This product was given to me by my dermatologist. She said that this was less harsh on your skin for cleaning it. I took her advice and got off of a great acne free routine of cleansing, and started this product. It worked to clean, and be gentle to my sensitive skin...but it made it oily. I have regular, normal skin. Not oily nor dry. So, I recommend this product with another acne cleanser as well, like Oil free acne wash cream cleanser by Neutrogena.

Great! I have sensitive skin, and have used Cetaphil for years with no problems. It cleans your face; removes makeup including eye makeup, and, in the shower, is gentle enough for external cleaning of private areas. It's also invaluable for cleaning face and body when the water source for bathing is unreliable. If the water runs out while you're in the middle of a shower, the Cetaphil left on your skin won't dry it out, in my experience (for that reason, it'd probably be useful on camping trips). So it's my basic cleanser at home, and when I travel. It's the best.

I agree with the last reviewer, this does nothing for my skin except leave a funky film. I will never understand the cult phenomenon surrounding this product. I think it makes my skin perform less well, and feels like it has rinsed off entirely. I have normal skin and it's not for me.

I do not like this product. I tried it years ago and did not like it. I never felt like it cleansed my skin. I bought it recently to use with baking soda after reading about people using Cetaphil and baking soda as a homemade scrub. Since I hadn't tried it in years, I thought I'd give it another try as a cleanser, too. Same result this time -- it's slimy and does not do a good job removing makeup or cleansing my face. I always feel like I have to wash my face again after using it. I have never understood the raves for this product and still do not.

This cleaner is the best. It doesn't leave my skin dry. It goes on and feels so soft on my skin. The only thing I don't like about it is that it leaves your skin so soft that you don't get that super clean feeling.

Best face cleanser I have ever used! I have really bad dry skin and break outs. This is so gentle and makes my skin feel clean. My blemishes are all gone now. I use the moisturizer after washing. Wow! Sooo soft. I haven't seen my skin look this wonderful for a long time. I've noticed it made the redness on my face fade away as well. It takes off ALL of my make up. It's just perfect!

I like this product, and have been using it for a couple years now. I have combination skin and never any problems with excessive dryness or breakouts while using Cetaphil. It does not do a very good job removing eye make-up, but I almost always wash my face with Cetaphil after trying other cleansers. If you use it in the shower you are able to rinse it off really well and don't get any residue feeling. I would highly recommend. Giving it four stars only because I wish it would remove eye makeup completely.

This product is great, my skin is getting better!!! Finally!! I previously suffered from bad acne, but now Cetaphil is working. I use Cetaphil, then some BP, and then Cetaphil moisturizer. If you want the best skin ever use a Cetaphil Cleanser and Moisturizer and your skin will look great forever. I don't see how someone couldn't like how great the products moisturize your skin - even the Cleanser moisturizes great!

I don't know about this Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser for dry skin, but I have used the Cetaphil for normal to oily skin and that one didn't do anything to help or cleanse my skin. I have very oily, acne prone and sensitive skin, and the Cetaphil for normal to oily skin was too gentle and didn't do anything at all. I felt like saying to my washcloth, "Hello? Are you there?"

Cetaphil is a great cleanser for my sensitive skin! It doesn't work for everybody, though, and even for the same person at different times. When I first tried the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser, I was using Retin-A and I thought Cetaphil was horrible - it irritated my skin so much, stinged it, and dried it out. I thought: "How can dermatologists recommend this stuff?" And I switched to Neutrogena's Fresh Foaming Cleanser, which was fine. Years later I decided to give Cetaphil another try - and it worked great! It cleans my face, is gentle, shrinks my pores and I like the fact that it is fragrance free. I don't wear makeup, though. I now use it to wash my baby's skin too. Her skin was very dry, but after starting Cetaphil, it got better within a few days.
