We've been using Cetaphil and toilet paper to clean our baby's bottom rather than using wipes. It is more gentle than wipes and works very well.

Cons: Causes Breakouts, Dries Out Skin, Irritates Skin

Best Uses: Oily Skin
Bottom Line: not recommended
I decided to try this after reading rave reviews about it in a few beauty guides. And I regret it. I don't need an "acne" cleanser, because I only break out when I'm PMSing...and no cleanser can solve that. Cetaphil is supposed to be gentle, basic... Something in that irritated my skin something awful. It got dry and flaky, and then it broke out awfully. I'm glad I only got a small container to try.

This cleans extremely well, even after a sweaty session in the gym. It doesn't irritate or dry my skin, and make-up comes off completely. Plus, it is very economical.

I have had sensitive skin my whole life, which normally means I can not put anything on it without a breakout of some type. I have been using cetaphil products for years now and love them. I do not have any reactions to there products at all, and it leaves my skin feeling / looking smooth and clean. This product states that you can use it in and/or out of the shower, personally I only use it in the shower as that seems to work the best and leaves my skin the cleanest. I found the best use is to use soap like normal first, then come back with this to remove the soap residue and truly clean out my pours. For anyone with sensitive skin, I would highly recommend this product.

I'm 45 years old, and concerned w/wrinkling, uneven skin tone, and blocked pores. My dermatologist recommended this product. At first I didn't care for how it felt after using it (film-like residue), but then I started seeing the results after a month - clear, smooth, even-toned skin. My dermatologist said to give it at least 3 months to see even better results.

I had been using Purity Made Simple by Philosophy, and liked it, but wanted something more reasonably priced. I needed a cleanser that would be gentle, remove makeup and not dry out my skin. I use Differin prescription product on my skin, and since Cetaphil is made by the same manufacturer, and I had heard good things about how gentle it is, I thought I'd give it a try. I was deeply disappointed. Cetaphil dried out my skin horribly, leaving it absolutely parched and dreadfully tight after rinsing it off. It stung my skin when I washed with it, smelled unpleasant and caused my skin to flake and peel the following day. The worst part was the hyper-oiliness that resulted from using it. My skin reacted to being dried out so badly by the Cetaphil by cranking oil production into high gear. By mid-afternoon I had a disgusting, nasty, visible oil slick alll over my face, and I have never had that problem before. The increased oil production caused acne, which had completely disappeared since I'd been using Differin. I couldn't use moisturizer because even though I desperately needed it after the Cetaphil dried out my skin, it added to the puddle of oil on my face that appeared in the afternoon. I have stopped using Cetaphil, and have gone back to Purity Made Simple by Philosophy. I'll never sacrifice quality for price again. I can't say anything good about this product. It was disasterous for my skin, and I'm really surprised by this. I do not recommend it to anyone.

I have been using this product for years. My dermatologist first introduced me to it, as I have extremely sensitive skin that is prone to allergic reactions and eczema. This cleanser is so gentle, yet effective, and does not strip your skin of moisture. I use an eye make-up remover, but Cetaphil is able to take off the rest - tinted moisturizer, pressed powder, blush, lipstick, etc. I have seen other name brands that offer cleansers for sensitive skin, but why bother trying it when Cetaphil works so well and is so reasonably priced? My husband now uses it too!

Cetaphil moisterizes the skin in a way that is quickly absorbed, leaves no sticky feeling and lasts for a long time. Never seen a better cream in my 70 odd years.

I've tried three bottles; the pump only worked on one. Plus, I still get acne.
