I love this shampoo. No, it doesn't lather well, and yes, you do need to use a conditioner afterward, but it has completely cleared up my dry, flaky scalp. I find it doesn't lather well if your hair is oily, so to combat this I quickly use a tea-tree oil based shampoo to "clean" my hair, and then I apply the Dr. Varons and let it sit for the recommended amount of time. Once your hair is less oily, it lathers just fine. Also, conditioner does need to be used, in my opinion. Lastly, I do believe I've seen less hair in the drain. :)

I first bought this shampoo [@] last year; they no longer carry it, so it is difficult to find in stores. But after using it for several months, my hair and scalp have improved considerably. Dr. Varon's contains high-quality herbal ingredients and is very soothing for scalp conditions (dryness, dandruff, etc.). The instructions tell you to leave it on for up to 5 minutes; with normal shampoos, my hair would be dry and frizzy after 5 minutes, but Dr. Varon's left my scalp refreshed and my hair clean and smooth. Be sure to shake the bottle before using because the natural ingredients will collect on the bottom.

Although this shampoo is packaged as therapeutic, two uses make it totally unacceptable for truly fine and thin hair. My hair is so full of static I can't even brush it. It's stuck FLAT to my head and does not even feel overly soft, just coarse and dry. I could barely get a comb through it wet. Will be returning this product - never to use again. I don't have enough hair to gamble with products like this.

I am not really sure if it helps with hair regrowth, but i try to use it every other day, and my hair is so much thicker. I need to put a little of the shampoo on, then rinse, then put it on again to get a better lather. I need a conditioner after.
