Color Oops™ Extra Conditioning takes you back to your lightest shade. It will return your hair to its natural color if the artificial hair color applied is darker than your natural shade. If the artificial hair color applied is lighter than your natural color, your natural pigment has been chemically lightened and although Color Oops™ will remove the artificial dye from your hair, ultimately your hair will be the chemically - lightened color. To go back to your natural color, it will be necessary to apply a hair colorant comparable to your own natural shade and tone.

This product contains ingredients which may cause skin irritation on certain individuals. A preliminary patch test according to the accompanying directions should first be made. Avoid contact with eyes. If contact with eyes should occur, rinse thoroughly with water and consult a physician. This product must not be used on eyelashes or eyebrows. To do so may cause blindness. Not to be taken internally. Keep out of reach children.
Patch Test Recommended: Apply mixture of equal parts 1 and 2 on a small cleansed area behind the ear or the fold of the elbow. Remove after 24 hours with soap and water or immediately if irritation occurs. If irritation is apparent, DO NOT PROCEED WITH APPLICATION! Do not use on eyebrows or eyelashes. If contact with eyes should occur, rinse thoroughly with water and contact a physician.

I have naturally medium brown, fine, thin hair with highlights. I tried to dye it a VERY dark red... my ends turned almost black, while my roots were dark red... ugh!
I used Color Oops twice... it removed all the dye and left my hair a light/medium coppery brown. It dried my hair a bit... but less than I expected. I used Nutragena's Triple Moisture Recovery Mask to remoisturize my hair.
But... You have to remember that this product does NOT add color... it only takes away the dye.
So... if you have dyed your hair a shade that is lighter than your natural color... and want to use Color Oops to remove the dye... you may find that your natural hair has been lightened and it will be coppery or brassy, after the dye has been removed. If so... you may need to re-dye your hair, to achieve a normal color. You should use a gentle ammonia-free dye like Loreal Excellence Creme... stay away from Ash shades, stick to neutral or warm colors... and don't leave the dye on your ends, for more than 5 minutes.
However... if you have dyed your hair a shade that is darker than your natural color... you may find that your natural hair hasn't lightened very much and you may not need to re-dye it.
Finally... if you have a history of dyeing your hair and there are several layers of color on your follicles... you may need to use this product 2-3 times to strip all the color.
AND HAVE A DEEP MOISTURIZER READY FOR USE RIGHT AWAY!!! Hope this info is helpful.

I bought this to switch from purple to pink Splat.I read all the directions & precautions carefully - no where did it say that it was not for removing out of the ordinary hair colors, only that it would not work if you wanted to go from light to dark. So I used it. While waiting to get this stinky stuff out of my hair - which it said required at least 20 min.s of rinsing - What the ?? - I was reading further down in the "Additional tips" section, where in the very last sentence it said it would not work on pinks, blues, purples ect. Great -[$] down the drain. Literally. Should we be informed of this BEFORE purchasing?? Shouldn't that be in the description on the box and on the web site?? Ah, YES!! [*].

I dyed my hair darkest brown (permanent) to cover my blue hair from manic panic (semi permanent) because I will start to work in a company at the next month but it came greenish black, so I want to lighten it because it said it can remove the undesired green tint. What did I got?? It came into a veeerryyy ugly dull weed green and it makes my hair very dry. Now I had to re-dye my hair and it'll make it more damaged.

my last review was for the extra strength that i used last year but this time i used this conditioning one and it did not work. it slightly lightened hair on top and did nothing on the ends. now when I redye it I will not get the results i was trying for

My husband is completely grey and I bought the new Just For Men comb through system for the first time and his hair came out sooo dark - didn't leave any gray behind and he looked like an old newscaster with much too dark hair. This did the trick and removed 95% of the color. It left a tiny tinge of color and that was fine with us. THANK YOU! Now he can leave the house and not be mad at me for ruining his beautiful hair. We're sticking to grey al naturale!

It took me 2 times to get most of the demi-permanent color out of my hair and still the ends were slightly darker/more dull. I was trying to get my hair to the base color gold. I wanted to use a lighter demi-permanent shade to change my look. The color when applied over the shade achieved ended dull. Others could probably use the product more successfully.

My lower half of my super long hair, not just the ends, were darker than the rest so I used this doing the dark areas first and it came out great! it did not damage my hair and turned my hair an very light light brown evenly. it is even enough to leave my hair as is but i did buy hair color to get the darker reddish brown I like. I have baby fine medium thick long hair close to elbows but not quite and 1 box was enough.

I am letting my natural grey take over but had alot of dark brown left. This product took it all out. Has to be used according to timing instructions and did leave bad chemical odor on my hair which I still notice when it is wet. But to get unwanted color out it did the job. just be sure to rinse for at least 20 minutes.
