This product was very easy to use and in twenty minutes my black hair dye was gone. The main thing to do is rinse your hair very well after the twenty minutes and the product works wonders. You will need to deep condition afterward. I did not think that black hair dye that I had been using for 2 years would be removed so easily. A few years ago I went to a salon to remove black hair dye and it cost me 230 dollars. This time I paid [$]on sale. I liked the color that came out after drying my hair , that I did not need to dye afterward. The smell of the product could be a little better, but overall AWESOME PRODUCT!!

After a couple of years of dying my hair, I decided to go back to my natural grey. I had dyed it all sorts of colors from professional, to cheap boxed colors, to that shocking purple goo from the local teenage goth store. This stuff worked great after one application. My hair went from a dark burgundy to a light brown with even lighter streaks. Looked like the frosted effect I had tried to get once but never turned out right! Quite a bit of the grey shows, but with this color scheme I can let it come in naturally as my hair grows out, instead of having the roots white and the rest dark. I was very pleased with the results (although my husband was quite freaked out). Rinsing for 15 mins wasn't so bad - I just stood at the kitchen sink and let the water run over my hair. Smell was comparable to perm solution. I'll use a clarifying shampoo to slowly strip the rest of the color out.

I just used this product, it really works. Looks like one treatment with this removed several months worth of dark hair dye I had put in. The hydrosulfite formula shrinks previously deposited color molecules from dye so that they rinse out of hair- thats why you wash and rinse three times to complete the application of this product. It does have an odor, but it's not as strong as I was expecting- milder than some home haircoloring kits even. It also wasn't as damaging/drying to my hair as I expected, considering that sulfur is such a harsh chemical. The final step in this process is to condition your hair, and I used Nutragena's Triple Moisture Recovery Mask as recommended by another reviewer, and my hair doesn't seem too dry, I feel like I could re-dye it in a few hours. What might surprise you, depending on what you've previously done to your hair, is that this product only removes haircolor- it does not magically restore your natural color if you've damaged it with any bleaching agents, and most permanent hair dyes (level 3) do have peroxide in them. I dyed my hair dark brown, then light brown (which has a lot of peroxide in it), but my hair turned out even darker. When Color Oops removed all the dye colors, I was left with orange hair, because my natural brown (with it's unbeatable red undertones) had been bleached by the permanent hair dyes I had used. Semi-permanent level 1 and 2 hair dyes do not have peroxide in them, so Color Oops should in fact restore your natural color. But if you're using this to correct a permanent haircolor mistake over naturally brown or red hair, be prepared to re-dye (probably with an ash or cool tone) to achieve a haircolor you can leave the house with. Also, try to rinse any unused or extra Color Oops solution down the drain, or even rinse out the bottle, if you don't want your trash to smell like sulfur till you take it out.

I read the directions before using, and it's pretty much standard for hair dye. The only thing I noticed that was weird was it said to attach the nozzle but my package didn't come with a nozzle or anything that looked like it could be used as one. So I was pouring this open container of liquid on as carefully as I could. I did do the strand and allergy test before I continued on with no problems but sure enough, when I did my full head, my entire scalp started itching. Not severe, but definitely enough to notice. The after results? My actual hair color. No streaks, no spots, no brassiness, nothing. Just what looked like virgin hair albeit a little drier. For an at home product without the risks of bleach or ammonia, this is great.

SO, I have Naturally Light brown hair... and I had been dying my hair black for about 2 yrs...II was soo tired of dying my hair and just wanted to go back to my light brown and stop dying. I didn't think C.O. would work but since i saw a lot of good reviews about it, I decided to take a shot at it... AND IT WORKED! I used 2 box's because I have Long hair and IT WORKED perfectly. Did not damage my hair like that last review, It actually seems like it is more conditioned, then anything...I read that if you have already breakage of the hair that you should deep condition your hair before or after using C.O...thats prob. why...??? Now, C.O. does stink from the Hydro Sulfite in it...I just put the C.O. on outside and It was fine. Absolutely, So happy for this product. Recommend this to anyone who wants their natural color back!

Didn't work, and stunk really bad,didn't do anything but burn my hair.

Gave me my original color back! So fast... So easy... Went back to my natural hair color without damaging! Seems like my is hair is conditioned, left hair silky smooth. :)

My hair is dark blonde with ligher blonde highlights. I really wanted to go with something different, and I chose an auburn brown, which looked great...on the box. The results were definitely not indicative of what was promised. This particular color dyed my hair a bright coppery red, and my highlights looked brassy orange. It looked just awful. So, I turned to this product. After reading all of the reviews, I decided to go for it. I was really skeptical at first that it would even work and I was really worried that this would dry out my already fine hair. However, it did not, and in fact, it is softer than it was before! The only thing it did do was lighten it to a lighter blonde all over. I am really happy with the results though...anything's better than that hideous orangy-red. Make sure you follow the directions exactly, though, and shampoo twice and rinse for the recommended 15-20 minutes. Make sure you use a conditioner afterwards, and for an added conditioning, you can use olive oil with a few drops of fragrance oil and let your hair absorb for about an hour. That will help with restoring any moisture lost. (I didn't have to do this but I intend to in the coming days since my poor hair has been through quite a bit). Yes, I will admit that it does smell sulfury, but after reading some of these reviews, I fully expected my entire house to smell like poo. Not true. It does have a slight smell to it and your hair may have a different odor than it usually does but it definitely is not offensive in any way (no more offensive than the smell of that dye you just used). I am happy with this product and would use it again if I had to. It definitely helps in an emergency! (And is way cheaper than if a salon did it for you...)

(This is for those with black hair that plan on useing this product) Alright my natural color is a Medium- Brown and i dyed it black and it turned darker then box color so a month later I used this and the black came out into a orange but then I re-dyed my hair the next day with light brown and i left it in for like 8 to 10 mins and my hair came out black again so Im pretty mad/upset I cant blame the product it didnt say it was for black specificly but all I can say is this product is not made for black hair, not to mention the hair is porous after you use color oops on your hair so be 100& sure to always do a strand test before dyeing it, this goes for everyone who uses this product

This stuff saved my hair. I am a natural redhead that was looking to kick the red up a bit. What I got can only be decribed as goth red, so red that it was almost purple. I bought a box of this stuff. Which I expected to smell like death but I really didn't think it was as bad as people made it sound. It saved my hair, removed about 70% of the color. I was really happy with the resuls.
