I used this to remove brown dye from my naturally dark blonde hair. While I loved being brunette, it got to be too high-maintenance so I decided to go back blonde again. The color had been in there a while and had several layers of dye on it, so I wasn't sure this would work but to my surprise, it worked GREAT! I had to do two applications of this to remove every last trace of the old color, but it did it without ruining my hair. I re-colored the same day and had terrific, true-to-tone results. I did as the directions suggested and used a lighter and warmer shade than I wanted to end up with and I was glad I did. The medium golden blonde shade I used was quite a bit lighter than anything I normally would have used, but it turned out the perfect shade of dark warm blonde. (Besides, it's much easier to darken hair that's too light than vice versa!) One thing I have to tell people who wrote bad reviews: YOU HAVE TO RE-COLOR AFTER USING THIS!! IT WILL NOT RESTORE YOUR NATURAL COLOR UNLESS THE DYE YOU USED WAS A TEMPORARY ONE!!! And when you re-color, GO WITH A LIGHTER AND WARMER SHADE THAN YOU WANT TO END UP WITH or your results will be too dark and too dull. Also, afterward you'll need to use a deep conditioner (but you need to do that after any chemical process).

I have always had dirty blonde hair with highlights. I got bored, dyed it brown out of a box (which was the first time I didn't see a professional). I liked it for a week, then decided I never wanted to be anything but blonde again. I read great reviews about Color Oops so I bought two boxes for my long, thick hair. Followed the directions very carefully, and my hair turned BRIGHT ORANGE!!!! I looked like a clown. Directions said to to try again if displeased, so I bought another two boxes and same ORANGE!!! I was horrified...I cried forever and was so scared my hair was damaged. All I wanted was my old color back and never change again. I used as much conditioning to try and repair my first time damaged hair. Made an appointment with my hair dresser for five days later, so my hair could heal a little. Wore head bands and pretty much a wig thats how bad it was!!!! Most horrifying, waste of money experience....I choose to look at it as a learning experience and be grateful for when I get my nice hair back!!!

It smells bad, but not sooo bad, that u shouldn't get it. Try it! It worked for me!!!! I actually used it twice. The first time, I rushed to re-dye my hair, which made my hair dark black again....AHHHHHH!!!!! RE_ORDERED! Did the whole thing again, and YaY! all the black is gone. My hair is it's normal, natural brown. A bit dry, so I will deep condition. But the black is GONE!!! and I didn't specnd as much as I would have at a hair salon, and my hair looks and feels healthy. And I will NOT re-dye, I've decided to stay with my natural brown! My hair is VERY long, wavy and thick, so I used two bottles, combed my hair, left it on for 20 minutes, rinsed, washed, rinsed for 5 min., washed, rinsed for 5 more min. conditioned, rinsed for 3 min. all done, VERY happy with the results!

I really put some faith into this product to help return my hair to original color. I used this product the same day i dyed my hair and it did NOT help at all! It was messy and smelly and took quite a while to use and it was all for nothing!

My hair is naturally brown but I have been dying it jet black for about 3 or 4 years now. I've tried so many time to go lighter but nothing will dye over it. I've waited months and months for it to grow out and fade but it was still on the end of my hair. I hate it so much but unfortunately I don't have the money to go to a salon and have it professionally removed. A few days ago I was online and came across this product. I read all the reviews and was skeptical because it seemed too good to be true but I tried it and amazingly 20 minutes later it really worked. I followed the directions exactly. Washed hair twice and rinsed five minutes each time and also conditioned it. I am now back to my natural brown. I haven't seen this color for years and it is great! I do want to go lighter still so I will probably dye it again. The box does say to pick a color one shade lighter than you want. The only negative comments I can say is that it is a little runny. It shouldn't be a problem because it is easy to use. It also has a strong smell but its no different than the smell of a salon. Other people complained it wasn't the color they wanted or it turned their hair orange. If people read it right, it removes color. It isn't a hair dye. So it isn't the products fault but the person who doesn't understand the information it gives you. Overall I would most definitely recommend this.

my best friend and I like to change up op hair colors and we decided for fall to go dark (and we havent gone near a brown overall color before) well the brand we bought was either just bad or not good because it was cheap. It ended up turning our hair DARK! almost black depending on the way you looked at it. i was upset and i tried to just play it off. well i went to work the next day and got so many negative comments, but all of them were true, i looked like a trashy girl. when i left work i went to the drugstore and bought this product. i was so scared to use it because i only heard bad things about "stripping" your hair or remover kits from the store. when i got home i was so happy to see that it only took 20 minutes. i also bought another brand and it had so many directions!!! i got even more scared. i took the plunge and just used it and when i got out of the shower i was SO EXCITED! i also took my aunts advice and used head and shoulders shampoo because it is good at stripping and lightening colored hair. my hair is back to its natural color from high school. the ONLY negative effect from this product it the smell but after i got out of the shower i blow dried my hair and styled it because i was so happy and it is reallllyyy soft and since i used a product that is scented the smell is not there. this is a product from God and i am so thankul to have found it. i am almost 20 so i know if i can handle the directions and have it be a success anyone can!

I had decided to cover my dyed medium auburn hair with a dark brown, to match my roots. Well, it came out jet BLACK. I was freaking out, and decided to give this product a try. It is somewhat difficult to use, as the solution is very runny, and the directions are complicated and tell you to shampoo/rinse several times, and to rinse for 5 minutes minimum. However, it did fade the black to a nice dark ruby-brown shade. It's darker than I wanted to end up, but it is at least acceptable for work. The only draw back I would note is the scent, which is very strong and smells like sulfur or vinegar. However it is not so bad that people near me can smell it; even my husband, who is very sensitive to fragrances, said that he cannot smell it unless he is right next to me.

My hair was a light blonde (not naturally) and I decided to tone it down a little and chose Natural Instincts 9N Coastal Dune - Dark Neutral Blonde. It is a semi-permanent color and I'd used some of the other shades in the line quite a bit. The picture on the box was just a little darker than my own, like a honey blonde. I put it on last night and was I surprised! My hair ended up an ugly brownish gray color. Ugh! : ( I tried some peroxide and shampoo but it was still dark. It lifted it a little, but not much. It was UGLY! I was so sorry I messed with it. I felt sick! Then I got a hair color removal kit and when I read the instructions it said you cannot use it on semi-permanent dye or your hair will be damaged and have undesirable color results. Now what? I was going to bleach it out but I didn't want to damage it any further. Then I Googled hair color removers and semi-permanent dye and found Color Oops. What a God-send! I was so happy when I saw that it was for both permanent and semi-permanent hair dye and all the reviews were wonderful and so encouraging. I read one where HK in NY went to the drugstore to get it and I quickly found out that I could get it at Walgreens. I'm so thankful to her for giving me the idea that I could get it immediately. I was floored at the excellent results! I was going to put a toner on afterwards, but I don't have to. I'm amazed! It is beautiful! It's like I rolled the clock back to yesterday before I put that awful dye on my head. I am so happy and soooo releived! Now I can go back to work tomorrow and no one will even know, LOL! Use this wonderful product with confidence. It really delivers! Yay!

When you use a hair color remover---it will remove color. When it's finished--your hair is now ready to recolor to what you wanted. Depending on what you had on your hair in the first place--it will effect the color it is when color is removed. People who say it is orange should have just re colored it.

This product saved my day!!! I always color my hair, has been a light, golden blonde, then decided to try a "Natural Blonde" (trying to tone down brassiness), used 2 boxes of coloring, as I always do, as I have long hair. Long story short, the boxes did not have same colorant inside, even though outside of box looked exactly the same, I made the mistake of not checking bottles inside before I applied, and they were different colors (had different coloring code numbers)!! My hair came out dark, brownish, greyish, greenish!! I was in tears!! I got online to look for help, found info on Color Oops, and ran to the drugstore, with a hat covering my head, and still crying!!! Brought it home, did strand test and within 2 minutes it was already turning back to a gold blonde! I did the whole head application (left it on less than 10 minutes)and am just amazed at the outcome!!! No more ashy, grey, green hair!! it may be a little brassy at the moment, but I will take it!!!! It is a little smelly, but I will put up with that too!!!
