When I think of all the years I spent confined to the house as much as possible during my period, and all the invitations turned down, and all the plans cancelled, I could cry! Since I got my Divacup, I don't have to stop my life in order to sit home and bleed! If you are a heavy bleeder, get one, trust me, it will change your whole outlook on that time of the month. Getting my period is no longer panic-inducing. I don't have to schedule around it, because I know that even on my heaviest days, I can put this in, and go for hours without worrying about embarrassing leaking, ruining my clothes, or wearing both tampons and pads. (In the summer that's particularly not-fun) I also have found my cramps to be much less severe with this, than with tampons. Correlation isn't causation, but it was noticably better, for me. I also have a college degree, which should not be necessary to use this product. I give one star because there is one reason I can see to use this: it is environmentally friendly. My commitment to the environment is being seriously tested. It was too large. Corresponded with company who was not willing to exchange for smaller size. Tried small size from company online called skoon cup. Fits perfect. They also will exchange or return for free. Disappointed that diva cup not interested in making sure the customer is happy with correct product. Expensive to buy if unusable. I'm sure it's not that expensive for them to make. Would not recommend this company as this is new territory for many and help is appreciated in getting it right. Comments about The DivaCup Model 2, 1 ea: I'm new to menstrual cups. A few months ago I ordered one that's a different brand and it never fit right. It was uncomfortable and a mess. I was hesitant to buy another one, but I really like the idea of not needing tampons. The Diva Cup is perfect for me. It's very comfortable. I don't even notice it. I have a heavier than average flow and it held up well. The only leak I had was from not inserting it correctly the first time I used it. My only complaint, that I have for any cup is how to remove it without getting my hands dirty. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that's looking to try out menstrual cups. Comments about The DivaCup Model 2, 1 ea: This is my first period using the Diva Cup. My periods have been very heavy since giving birth (15 years ago). I was at my wits end with tampons, as I had to use super+ tampon as well as a panty liner, and I got leaks even when my period was light! I was disgusted by the number of used tampons in the trash, and having to tote supplies everywhere, even keeping a stash in my desk at work. The first few times inserting and removing have been difficult. The trick I tell myself, as the instructions say, insert BACK TOWARD TAILBONE...NOT UP AND IN like with a tampon. That is the tough part to remember. Back, not up. Once figuring that out, it's become easier. If at home, I put one foot on toilet and one on the floor, and that makes insertion and removal much easier for me. I still wear a liner to avoid a mess, but I'm hoping with time and practice, I can be free of that! I guess the key is, don't give up. Comments about The DivaCup Model 2, 1 ea: So far this product hasn't leaked a drop, nomatter how heavy my days are. It takes a few minutes to settle into place once inserted but, afterward, it's not even noticable. Some of my biggest concers were using the toilet. No problem. It stays put until you take it out. The seal is incredible. I recommend this product for everyone who doesn't mind that time of the month products that you insert. These will replace tampons. Mark my words. Comments about The DivaCup Model 2, 1 ea: Its only difficult to use at first but once you get the hang of it, its not too bad. I love not having to tote a bunch of pads or tampons around in my purse. The protection is definitely better then pads or tampons. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Best Uses Comments about The DivaCup Model 2, 1 ea: Read the instructions over again if you're having difficulty getting the DivaCup into place. Yeah, it's messy removing the first couple times, but once you figure it out it's not bad and you can do so in the privacy of your own bathroom within the 12 hour time frame(huge plus!!). I no longer have to 'take inventory' of tampons or carry them in my purse or discretely to the bathroom! I finally made it through a night without trashing a pair of underwear. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend (2 of 2 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Comments about The DivaCup Model 2, 1 ea: I can't say enough good things about this product. I was actually upset for all the years of periods I've had without it. There's a little learning curve, really just the first day, and after that being on your period is the same as not being on your period. I'm 34 with no kids and I got size 2 and cut the stem off and I can't feel it in there. I was uncomfortable walking with it in with the stem on, but that was a simple little fix. Now when Aunt Flo comes barreling into my life, there's no tragic mess to contend with every time you use the restroom (maxi pad users holla if you hear me) and emptying it out actually isn't as gross as it sounds. I've worn it in 12 hour increments and it's amazing. You can put it in before you start so no more running to the bathroom to check every 45 mins. No more overnight sheet ruination. I have endometriosis so I was looking for an alternative to tampons (which make cramps worse) and pads (which are super gross). This little nugget fit the bill! It feels so much cleaner and more sanitary than traditional pads and tampons. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend (4 of 5 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Comments about The DivaCup Model 2, 1 ea: After over 20 years of menstruating and 2 kids, I decided that I hated tampons and needed to move on. My cycles turned very heavy too. I tried the soft cup and while it was good for non-heavy days, it was AWFUL for heavy days (MESS). For my heavy days, i had to use Ultra tampons every 1-2 hours. I finally decided to try the DivaCup. After mastering the other cup, it was easy to get used to the DivaCup. This is seriously the best. Once i know it is that time of the month, i can insert it as soon as I get cramps. For the first 3 days, I can use it for 12 hours straight and not know it is there. I can change it in the morning in the shower and then again right before bed. For my heavy days (days 4-5), I need to change it every 3-4 hours, but I love that it is not that big of a mess, I don't need to carry around 100 ultra tampons to change every hour and I don't cause tons of garbage with tampons and toilet paper. I do use a liner during my heavy days because there can be some "excess". A couple of tips: If it won't open when inserted, then its too high; make sure to squeeze the bottom while pulling it out and pull it out straight to not spill; if you tense up while inserting, breathe out and relax. Highly recommend! Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend (7 of 7 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Comments about The DivaCup Model 2, 1 ea: So I just checked when I purchased this and it was in March of 2012 - over two years now. I have used this every period since. However, after the first time I inserted - not too difficult - I was unsure it was going to come out. I panicked. I read every review I could. But I could not get the thing out.
