I used to use razors and shave cream and after shave but I still got razor bumps. I used this under my arms and on my bikini zone and I was bump free. This product is smelly but it works READ the directions and DO NOT leave on your skin longer than 9 mins or you may irritate your skin. Apply to dry skin let it set for about 5 -7 mins take a wet wash cloth and wipe cream off your skin and the hair will come right off. I used this product because I was tired of getting razor bumps and it worked just fine. NO I DID NOT USE IT TO TAKE HAIR OFF MY HEAD but I used it under my arms and on my bikini zone.

I used the "bald head" magic cream only 2 days after shaving my head with a razor, following the directions to a t, and not one single hair came off in the wash cloth. While I was waiting the prescribed 4 minutes it gave me a burning sensation that made me think it was working wonderfully, and it had a stench the likes of which I have never smelled in a "hygiene" product.

Only negative is the smell but I have permed my hair before so it smells the same. It works great for me I use it on my head and it gives a smooth shave. Depending on your hair I recommend leaving it on longer than 4 minutes. If you're white or light skinned don't expect to not see some hair after using it. I only wished it had something like the product epil stop added to it to slow hair growth. Another suggestion make a bigger size.

I purchased Magic Shave Razorless Shave last week. After three uses I've decided that this product is not for me. I followed the directions word for word. My hair was short. I tested a small area on my head and the hair came off. After the test, I applied the cream to my entire head, waited seven minutes, and started the removal process. I started wiping where I applied the product first, continued wiping, and when I wiped all the cream off of my head, my head was a patchy mess. Since all the hair was not removed the first time, I waited 24 hours before trying again. After following all the steps yet again, and also leaving it on for 9 minutes, all of my hair was removed. 5 days later it was time to "shave" my head again. On the third use and leaving it on for 12 minutes, nothing was removed from my head. I decided to throw in the towel and throw Magic Shave in the trash. I am so glad this product did not cost a lot of money.

Some people here have complained about the effectiveness or the smell so let me address these two points. First the smell - it's a chemical! Of course it smells. My grandfather and father both used Magic Shave so I remember the scent growing up. Adding a fragrance will do nothing for its effectiveness. The smell wanes as soon as you wash it away (thoroughly). It may linger in the air for a while, but that is to be expected from a depilatory. next, the effectiveness. it's all about how you use it. There are many 'tips' some of the users who complained were not aware of, probably from lack of experience. First, you must apply a thick layer - the thicker the better. The instructions say leave it on for 4-7 minutes but that is not enough. I leave mine on for 9 minutes before wiping it off. I pat it with water during the 9 minutes to make sure it stays wet. I use a clean cloth soaked in hot water to wipre it off. This opens up the pores. After I've cleaned my scalp thoroughly I take a hot shower, ensuring I spray my head to get all of the chemical off. Then I apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly or antibiotic ointment. I do this routine in the evening and the results last for a week. I have never had any chemical burns or sensitivity and I have keloids! Razors and clippers cause me great pain, but this stuff is painless, if you use it right. It's great for those of us who have keloids or ingrown hairs.

I was looking forward to using this product as I have very sensitive combination skin, and am prone to high irritation, ingrown hairs, and razor burn. I followed the instructions to a T, but most of the hair remained, and all I got was a disgusting smell in my room, near-painful irritation, and the inability to fix it with a razor afterwards. Dislike and will be throwing it out!!!

I use this product for under-arm and bikini area hair removal. I am female and do not like wax or razor irritation. I stole this product from my husband. It works very well despite the smell. The smell has been improved from the first version of the product. SoftSheen-Carson has another version of this product, Not Sold here, which is stronger and much better for facial hair, regular to coarse beards. This version is for tender scalp skin. You MUST FOLLOW the instructions exactly for best results. Use a timer to make sure you do not leave it on too long.

Sensitivity test: Before using Magic Cream Shave for the first time, the following test must be performed. Wait at least 36 hours after using a razor or depilatory product before doing this test. Apply cream to a quarter size area of the beard. Wait 4 minutes. Remove. Do not scrape. Rinse area thoroughly. After 24 hours, if there is no sign of irritation or redness, follow directions. Directions: If hair is longer than 1/8 of an inch, cut hair shorter before using. Apply petroleum jelly to ears & back of neck. Apply a thick layer of cream, one side of the head after the other, to completely cover the head / scalp. Set timer for 4 minutes. If cream dries, remoisten by patting with wet fingertips. After 4 minutes, test a small area. If hair does not wipe off easily, leave on for a few minutes longer. Do not exceed 7 minutes. Gently remove with a damp wash cloth, starting with the side of the head you applied the cream first. Rinse head thoroughly, paying close attention to the neck and ears. Do not wash with soap. If any hair remains, wait 24 hours before next Magic Bald Head application.
