This is good stuff, but 'Sarna Ultra' is what was recommended by our dermatologist. It's far superior in it's healing abilities and cuts the itch faster. And it's still non-steroidal. A bit more expensive but well worth it. I don't know why drugstore.com doesn't carry it, but I wish they would so I won't have to keep making a special trip to the Drug Store for the Ultra.

This is so helpful for my ezcema! Not a miracle cure on its own, but combined with diet-limiting gluten, dairy, etc, avoiding dogs and dust, and trying to deal with stress better--very effective. I put it on a few times a day and I still keep a rx hydrocortisone for emergencies but any ezcema sufferer will appreciate any relief sometimes! I've tried a bunch of natural anti-itch stuff and this is the best one so far. It does smell awful but the smell disapates and I've gotten used to it.

Around 33rd week of my pregnancy, I developed terrible rashes around my chest and sides of my torso. I didn't find relief with Benadryl or Cortisone cream or oatmeal bath. Sarna is steroid-free, works well, and allows me to get some sleep. It's by no means instant relief but the numbing/cooling effect does kick in within 5-10 minutes. My OB recommended Sarna, too, and said it's safe for me to use as often as I need. That's a good thing since unfortunately these rashes won't go away until I deliver. I apply the lotion about 3 times a day. The only negative thing I have to say is that it doesn't smell too good. Since I have rashes all over and need to use a lot of it, I probably smell like walking Bengay. With that said, I'd rather be smelly than to have to endure itchiness throughout my day and night. I highly recommended this product.

I apply Sarna to wet skin. No towel-drying after bath or shower for maximum moisture benefit, as recommended by my dermatologist. It does wonders. Editor's note: doctor's recommendation is based on customer experience, and has not been independently verified by the drugstore.com website.

The smell is unpleasant, and it's not as effective as the other two Sarna products - Sarna Ultra and Sarna Sensitive, which don't smell like a locker room.

The fragrance is very unpleasant, but it delivers on its promise to relive my itching skin. My advice is to use it at night on the affected areas only if you can.

The only product that relieves my itchy skin. Have tried many other lotions, sprays, and pills, but Sarna is #1. I do have to apply it often as my skin is severely dry, and it doesn't supply enough moisture. Would like to see more products created by Sarna such as a topical body spray, shampoos, and conditioners as well as a convienant compact Sarna Stick for carrying in a purse or briefcase.

Compared to Aveeno, Sarna is significantly better. It also does to have as strong a menthol smell. Sarna is the best product for itch that I could find. I have Graft vs Host Disease of the skin from a stem cell transplant for leukemia, and Sarna helps much better than Aveeno.

Although it did help the itching - it has a combo of menthol and camphor so don't use it with homeopathic remedies - the smell was so bad, it wasn't worth it. After an initially OK smell, it settled into a sickeningly sweet, rotten flower smell. I teach kids and they were grossed out by it, which was really embarrassing. Hard to get rid of the smell, too.

Sarna does relieve itching and dry skin, but that awful smell gets tiresome.
