good suggestions

After scanning all the reviews here I see that I'm in the minority. Yes, Miralax works, but I stopped using it because of unpleasant side effects. I'm post menopausal and on a few meds both of which have really messed up my system. It's almost impossible to be delicate on this subject, so I'll just get to the point. I had very bad..and loud....grumbling and rumbling in my intestines. Also, while their website states that Miralax doesn't cause gas, I'm afraid it did for me. I could live with gas, except that this was different...it had an absolutely horrendous odor. I couldn't subject my family to it!! Also, I never felt clean...everytime I went to the bathroom, I would have to use 4 or 5 wet wipes. I tried experimenting with 1/2 dose everyday, or a full dose every other day, however, the product wasn't as effective when I did that, plus I still had side effects. I wish I could be like everyone else who didn't experience any issues because this product does do its job. One more interesting note...these side effects were always much worse at night, even when I took the Miralax earlier in the day. II'm not sure why. I stopped using Miralax for now and I'm trying more fiber plus a stool softener. Hopefully, I won't have any...or even as many...unpleasant side effects. I haven't ruled out trying Miralax again in the future though, partly because I have 2-1/2 bottles left and partly because I know it's safe to use longterm.

Works great for those with chronic constipation and hate taking laxatives, but suggest getting a doctor's advice before taking it daily. It takes several days to begin working as it should.

Gentle enough for kids--heard of product from my child's doctor & now use it myself. Totally dissolves into beverage--no flavor or grainy texture. Also no cramps!!

Miralax is a lifesaver for me. Ever since I was a child I've had trouble with BMs. I would have terrible bloating and feel uncomfortable all the time. I was taking this as a prescription on a daily basis before it went OTC. I'm a little bummed that it's not covered under my health insurance but at least I can use Flexible Spending dollars for it. I highly recommend it! I have ZERO side effects and it has no taste. It's even safe for my little ones when they need a little help in that area.

A half dose daily helps me counteract mecication side effect.

MiraLAX seems easier on the body than it's generic buddy available still by prescription. I recommend this if you don't know what to do for IBS with constipation.

Very Effective

This works to facilitate regular BM. I don't have any particular problems, but have occasional constipation. This doesn not work "too much," and the product mixes with water, or any juice. It is relatively tasteless. Highly recommend this product.
