Indications
Relieves occasional constipations (irregularity), generally produces a bowel movement in 1 to 3 days.
Warnings
Allergy Alert: Do not use if you are allergic to polyethylene glycol Do not use if you have kidney disease, except under the advice and supervision of a doctor. Ask a doctor before use if you have nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain. A sudden change in bowel habits that lasts over 2 weeks. Irritable bowel syndrome. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are taking a prescription drug. When using this product you may have loose, watery, more frequent stools. Stop use and ask a doctor if you have rectal bleeding or your nausea, bloating, cramping or abdominal pain gets worse. These may be signs of a serious condition, you get diarrhea, you need to use a laxative for longer than 1 week. If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

I am a 28 year old female with a chronic pain condition which requires me to take a prescription pain killer frequently which also often causes constipation. I also take a number of other medications for other medical problems. I was afraid to take other laxatives because I was afraid that they would cause a problem with my prescriptions. However, my doctor recommended this and so I use this whenever I become constipated. It works great and has no side effects! It does not cause diarrhea or pain. To be honest, it just simply makes it seem as though you're not constipated anymore. The stool is not loose or too firm but is just like a normal bowel movement.

After scanning all the reviews here I see that I'm in the minority. Yes, Miralax works, but I stopped using it because of unpleasant side effects. I'm post menopausal and on a few meds both of which have really messed up my system. It's almost impossible to be delicate on this subject, so I'll just get to the point. I had very bad..and loud....grumbling and rumbling in my intestines. Also, while their website states that Miralax doesn't cause gas, I'm afraid it did for me. I could live with gas, except that this was different...it had an absolutely horrendous odor. I couldn't subject my family to it!! Also, I never felt clean...everytime I went to the bathroom, I would have to use 4 or 5 wet wipes. I tried experimenting with 1/2 dose everyday, or a full dose every other day, however, the product wasn't as effective when I did that, plus I still had side effects. I wish I could be like everyone else who didn't experience any issues because this product does do its job. One more interesting note...these side effects were always much worse at night, even when I took the Miralax earlier in the day. II'm not sure why. I stopped using Miralax for now and I'm trying more fiber plus a stool softener. Hopefully, I won't have any...or even as many...unpleasant side effects. I haven't ruled out trying Miralax again in the future though, partly because I have 2-1/2 bottles left and partly because I know it's safe to use longterm.

This product dissolves in any liquid and is tasteless. Miralex has prevented diverticulities to occur. It works well, no cramps. This is undoubtedly the best laxative/stool softener I have ever used, and will use it until ---well, I am 83!!

I take it every morning in a cup of juice. It keeps me totally "regular." It was a little too strong, so I reduced the dose a bit. I only fill the cap to about 1/8" from the top line. It is tasteless but smooth, so it doesn't change the flavor or texture of a drink. I've occasionally put it in tea, or just plain water, and it still works well.

I used to get bouts of diverticulitis - since I have taken the product - they have disappeared. I had constipation - that is gone. I asked my doctor how long I can take this product. His answer: "til the cows come home." I have been taking Miralax I believe for the last 5 years. My bowels are regular, I have no cramps. My last colonoscopy said: no polyps - I never had any.

One of my prescription medications causes extreme constipation. I tried another product for relief, but it didn't work at all. I switched to MiraLax, which had been recommended by my physician, and found relief. I find it easy to take, effective, and with no bad side effects.

My gastroentologist suggested Miralax over 5 years ago to relieve constipation and avoid bouts of diverticulitis. He assured me I can take it as long as I wanted to. This is the best medicine I have ever used. I dilute it in V8 juice, which I drink on a regular basis. I have no cramps, no belly aches, and absolute regularity.
