If you are looking for strong hold this is not for you. It is a very light, gentle hold which for me is perfect. It also leaves my hair feeling smooth a looking shiny a little like those silicone "shine" serums but with no greasy feeling. I love this product. I've been looking for something to replace my Framesi "Shine In" gel which has been discontinued and this inexpensive gel is the closest I've found. I hope they never discontinue this product.

L'Oreal calls this "Strong Hold" but I would say it is closer to "Medium Hold". It is a great gel for curly, thick hair but still gives freedom-of-motion. Not sticky, and won't flake or cause build-up-- you can actually glide your fingers through the hair without getting stuck. Although this gel almost feels like a serum, I would NOT recommend for those with straight hair flyaways as it contains dimethicone, which will only weigh the hair down.
