The best iron supplement I've found, by FAR! My teenager has low iron, and this is the first iron supplement I've been able to get him to take on his own. All others made him sick to his stomach, so I had to force him to take them, when I remembered. So he skipped his dose lots of days, making those other supplements pretty ineffective.

I tried other iron products and they always constipated me. This formulation is great because it has increased my iron levels so I am not so tired all the time, yet it does not constipate me. And it is a small pill that I take twice each day rather than those huge tablets that are difficult to swallow.

I was diagnosed with severe anemia and recommended to take this 3/day. I thought it was too much and would give me terrible constipation. But it actually was very good and I did benefit a lot and my bloodwork improved. I m now on 1-2/day and can actually feel the difference if I have forgotten them for more than 3-4 days (dizziness, light headedness). Plus my hair is great, healthy and I think am growing new hair (I also take a multivit) and no more split ends!- ofcourse this was all due to the iron deficiency not his brand! Neway I m hooked to this for life.

I was recommended this particular supplement for anemia caused by pregnancy. I tried it for a week but experienced side effects including diarrhea and bowel incontinence. I have since switched to another iron supplement that has the same dose of iron but in a different form, and the unpleasant symptoms have stopped. I speculate that the lactose in Slow Fe is what caused my problems, as I am moderately lactose intolerant. Not recommended if you are lactose intolerant.

I have a fibroid and it has caused me to have really heavy periods and in turn has caused me to become severely anemic. I have tried 3 prescription iron pills that either hurt my stomach or it gave me constipation. Slow fe is the only one that I have taken that has no side effects. I'm so happy because I will have to take iron for the rest of my life (or until I hit menopause) and it's great that I do not have to suffer for the next 10 -15 years.

I also think this is an amazing product! I had no choice but to go on iron, since my lab results were approx. 5points away from needing a tranfusion !! :( I was worried about the whole constipation thing too, esp. since I'm already on meds. for hypothyroidism (which in itself can cause constipation), but it was fine.....no issue at all...

I am severely anemic and had to see a hematologist. I was advised to take iron pills 3x a day with Vitamin C. I took it at breakfast and lunch faithfully. I only took it 2x a day. My doctor says my blood count is much better, and to come see her in July. Other pills made me constipated, and it was very hard to move my bowels, so I wouldn't take iron pills. This is the best Iron pill, and the only one I have taken faithfully.
