My mother's doctor recommended that she take iron, but she couldn't swallow the huge iron pills and didn't like the liquid. HIs PA suggested she try this brand as they are much smaller. Then when my Dr. said I needed more iron, I thought I'd try them. They are easy to take daily and have no side effects. It's a simple, easy, painless solution. I recommend them.

Pros: Slower absorption
Cons: Causes Side Effects
Describe Yourself: First Time User, Medical Professional
Best Uses: Daily Use, Women
Bottom Line: recommended
I cannot take regular iron-too binding. This iron is absorbed slowly (hence the name) and is a smaller dose than most prescription iron. I am anemic due to excessive menstrual flow. I also have irritable bowel, constipating type. I have a difficult time taking both iron and Amitiza, the medication for the IBS. It creates the OPPOSITE problem, plus cramping. I don't take the iron daily as I should due to the side effects.

Because of my anemia due to uterine fibroid issues, my doctor put me on 2 Slow-FE tablets per day, morning and night. What a difference! I can exercise! I have energy! I can think! One tablet in the morning and one at night. Every other day I take a magnesium tablet to keep my bowels moving, but that is an easy fix. I am so grateful to feel young at 43 again!

I had to take Slow FE twice a day through my pregnancy to overcome pregnancy-related anemia. It worked well. It is best to take it with orange juice to increase iron absorbtion.

Best Uses: Daily Use, Men, Women

I've never been anemic but I do take SlowFE tablets when I'm feeling a little run down. It's been helpful at those times. There is no aftertaste as with some iron supplements. There are no problems with anything else either. My daughter has problems with low iron and I can tell immediately whether or not she has been taking her supplements recently. Her system is more fragile than my own and she has had no issues with the supplements either. SlowFE was recommended by a doctor.

Pros: Produces Results, Simple To Take
Cons: Packaging is difficult
Describe Yourself: Regular User
Best Uses: Daily Use, Men
Bottom Line: recommended
Had all tests, including swallowing a picture taking bullet, but no one can find the source of my anemia; I take 3 tablets per day, this keeps me healthy and away from transfusions. No, I have no cancer, leaks, or punctures. Slow FE has been my answer for over 4 years now. My physician recommended it, after trying prescription iron...she felt this was the best. The packaging gives you a workout when trying to prepare a month's worth in a bottle. So, that could be a lot better, and probably would be better for the packaging processor, as well. I am 72 and doing well, working every day, sleeping every night. No diarhea, no constipation with this product.
