I have used the cb portable only. I have not used this in my car yet but I will use this on my next trip. The cb works great. I like the weather functilon also.

The range is limited, but meets the 1 mile advertised range. The magnetic base isn't strong enough...it came off when I got up to 65mph. After repositioning it and using the cable as a tether, it stayed on.
