I'd highly recommend this product as a calcium supplement. As a nurse practitioner, I often recommend patients take a calcium supplement (i.e. Tums, calcium tablets). This is an excellent alternative. The flavor I tried is chocolate (two others are available). Another REAL PLUS -- they are soft and chewable! And for those of us with a craving for chocolate, they certainly hit the spot! They are convenient (individually wrapped for freshness), so just pop them in your purse! Or better yet, keep a supply in your desk! Also, they're ONLY 20 calories each!! They are mid-range in price in comparison to calcium supplement tablets. I highly recommend them.

This is a great way to take a calcium suppliment. I have a difficult time swallowing pills, so this is perfect. They taste good, good texture, go down easy! I wish all my tablets came in this form!

I can't comment on the effectiveness because there is some ingredient in these chews that absolutely does not agree with my stomach. I'm sure they work well for others but not for me.

I've been using this product for years, as I find them much easier to digest than the large chalky pills. I was recently shocked to learn that these supplements contain a trace amount of trans fats! If a product contains less than 0.5g, they don't have to list it on the nutrition label. Yes, it may be a trace amount, but I don't want to eat trans fats when I'm trying to do something healthy for myself.
On another note, the new pink lid is incredibly misleading. One would think that by the pink lid this company somehow contributes to breast cancer research. Not true, instead the pink lid means "Vitamin D is being investigated for breast health benefits." I find this incredibly misleading in my opinion.
For these reasons above, after at least 10 years of use, I will be switching to another supplement.

bought these bacause I needed calcium suppliment and I enjoy chocolate. really tastes great. The only problem is that they are sometimes hard to unwrap, especially if you have a little arthritis in your hands

I have been using Viactiv for 6 months or so. The chocolate really tastes good and that is the only flavor I have tried. But having said that, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth for a couple of hours or so.
