I bought this because I was told white dust was bad- used filter before no problems- wish it was a two pack for the price and could recycle it after use.

this filter prevent the humidifier from working properly, must be some design defect, not worth the money at all

One reviewer wrote that the filter prevented the humidifier from working. I followed the instruction to let the filter sit for 15 minutes before turning on the machine, and it worked just as before. However, the humidifier still produces more mineral dust than an expensive version would. I will follow the suggestion to use distilled water, although I wish this were not necessary.

I received the product with the corresponding humidifier in the same shipment. I carefully read and followed all of the instructions. However, the humidifier would not function properly with the filter inserted. I was starting to think I had a faulty humidifier until my husband removed the filter and it worked fine. I did not bother to return the filter, since it was a low cost item and not worth the bother. I just use the Kaz "cleaning fluid" in the humidifier for the same effect, anyway.
