I'm tell you--this thing works! My heels are so dry, they snap nylons, catch carpets etc. They are dry and the only thing I could do to improve their appearance was use those razor blade callous removers. That takes a long time and I've cut myself many times. This egg is sooo cool. It looks like a cheese grater---and it just scrapes away the dead skin--you can immediately see it all that it's taking off if you open the case. I've never even used the buffer pads that come with it--my feel look NORMAL now. Trust me--it works--I HONESTLY do not understand why anyone would give it anything less than 5 stars. No one's feet could be worse than mine. I have gought 5 of these for friends/family.

I use PedEgg for at-home pedicures. I also use it to keep dry skin at bay since I am prone to athlete's foot.

I have found that PedEgg is most effective if I have soaked my feet or taken a shower prior to use. I believe, though, that the manufacturer recommends against using PedEgg after bathing because it is easier to remove too much skin when it is damp and soft. I have never come close to cutting myself or making my skin raw with PedEgg, however; it is rather gentle. The worst injury I have sustained is a slight graze to my finger while scrubbing at my heel. I think the box grater in my kitchen is far more hazardous.

When used on damp skin, PedEgg is more effective than a pumice, but less effective (albeit safer) than razoring off callouses. I have found that the thick skin on my heals has a slightly rough texture afer I use the metal part of the PedEgg, so I smooth it using the provided rough pad or a pumice stone. If you want spa pedicure results, you may have to work on your callouses for a while or make PedEgg part of your daily or weekly routine until your feet are in tip-top shape.

Be forewarned that PedEgg may be a little messier than you expect, particularly if you use it on dry skin. If you hold it so that the metal surface faces up, and the curved lid is in your palm, it will catch most of the dry skin that you remove. However, some dry skin is very fine and will likely fall on your bathroom floor. As well, I have found the PedEgg easiest to use while seated with my leg crossed so that my foot rests on my opposite knee. In such a position, some of the removed skin will fall to the ground rather than into the PedEgg container. Use this tool over the tub or with a towel in your lap to minimize the mess.

For the cost, the Ped-Egg is a great tool to keep your feet smooth. I keep it on my nightstand and use it as often as I can remember. I have bought all the creams and lotions but what actually has worked is the Ped-Egg. I do wish they would include more than 2 refills in the container & I have not seen these sold separately but continue to look.

I thought to try this after seeing on tv.
After a shower while feet were soft I used it.
I am back to smooth soft feet again. I'm athletic and my feet get thick callouses.

Ordered 3 of these. One for my daughter, one for me and a spare. I had been using one of these for years. Did not realize how dull it had become until I used the new one. Glad I found these again. I never take all the dry skin off at one time for it tends to make my heel sore and feel like it will crack open. With this new ped egg it would be easy to overdo it, so this is why I am careful and use it every few days until it reaches the place I want it to be. Then I use as needed.
