I love this product. I have used it on everything, whether it be as simple as a slightly used spoon, or a greasy pan. It always works, it also makes beautiful suds (which is always a plus, it makes you feel like you are cleaning better somehow.) I have officially switched to using this product only. In addition my husband loves it, which means I will get some help with the dishes. For those who do not like the smell, I have to say that it is a pretty concentrated smell and I could understand how someone might not be able to stomach it. But once you like it you are hooked. I have even ordered the dishwasher liquid in this scent. I can't wait to get it!!

I usually use Seventh Generation dish soap, but I've heard that Mrs. Meyers products last longer and give better suds so I decided to give them a try. I used a very small amount of the basil dish soap to wash a single pot. In seconds, my entire house reeked of an overly pungent scent that had no resemblance to basil whatsoever. I'm sensitive to scents, and I'm still feeling headachy and dizzy from this one. I scrubbed and rinsed the pot I was washing, but it seemed to take forever to get rid of the scent. This stuff is going directly onto Freecycle. If you're perfectly happy in the perfume section of a department store, you might like this. But if you're looking for a gentle, natural scent, give this one a pass. It's back to Seventh Generation for me I guess.

Let me preface this by saying that we use Mrs. Meyer's liquid laundry detergent and love it. The basil scent is intoxicating. We decided to try the dish soap. Same great smell, but doesn't do its job. Doesn't work on grease, or really clean your dishes at all. My husband and I call it "dish perfume" (Honey, can you perfume the dishes tonight?), that's really all it does; it makes for a nice washing experience because it smells so amazing, but it's completely ineffective at getting the dishes clean.Let me preface this

This will do a lot more than clean your dishes. For instance, anyone who has dogs knows they can get sick and/or have accidents. For instance, in the middle of last night, my large male dog had a serious bleeding problem -- lots of blood all over the carpets. While I rushed him to a 24/7 veterinary emergency hospital, my wife got every bit of the blood up with this product. He is still there, but all the stains are gone. We have been using it for a few years, and I can only say that we swear by it.

Someone had given some of this dishsoap in lavendar to my 94-year-old mom and I used it while helping her out on the weekend. The smell was just so lovely that I came home and ordered 6 (so that I could get free shipping) in several scents. The rosemary is great also and I can't wait to open the others. After a long day working, it just helps to have some little thing in your kitchen to enjoy!

I love the scent. I hate to wash dishes but the scent makes it somewhat enjoyable. I don't find it overwhelming at all. What I like best, though, is that the scent doesn't remain on the dishes. I've used other dish detergents and there always seems to be a detergent odor no matter how well I rinse. This rinses clean.
