Used the product for medication-induced hot flashes, and for cancer pain. Usually use it at night, but can't sleep all night with it because it is too stinky (smells like strong pungent plastic odor), too cold (like laying your head on on an ice cream carton), and too stiff (feels less like a pillow, feels more like cardboard). But my cancer may make me more sensitive to materials. Wish it were softer and less smelly. Nice if it were adjustable cold. I put it on and off the bedpillow all night long as I need it. It is heavy to keep taking on and off in the middle of the night. Sometimes it works miracles and cools me off right away, (too much, so I have to take it off again) and other times I wish it was even bigger, like the size of my bedsheets and my whole body could sleep on the thing. Definitely works to cool you off. Material a bit stiff and quite stinky even with a pillowcase on top of it.

I bought this product after reading several great reviews about it on this site. It arrived and I followed the instructions to the letter but had leakage and problems with the air coming out of the pillow in order to retain the cool feeling. It worked fine for 2 weeks then literally ripped at the seam. I did not bother trying to mail back a defective product; [...].If they could make this product so that it would be sturdy; it would be great for migraine pain sufferers like me.

Cant say how many years Ive used this product but Im on my 6th pillow! I have one at home and the other in the RV. Its so nice and cool at night when I lay upon it and like a water bed for your head, if you have hot flashes this is definately for you!

It's easy to use but with all the water it's heavy. Doesn't stay cool all night for my hot flashes.

As someone said before, it´s a great idea, but need some improvements for sure. It gets deformed and didn´t stay in place. It takes so long for me to get it in shape that I gave up using.

My sister and I both purchased the Chillow Plus at the same time and we love them and loved the savings by buying two at once. I have already saved the money I spent for it by not having to turn the room air conditioner in our bedroom and I am not freezing my husband for which he is soooo thankful !!! . Most of the time I just use it like it is and it is cool enough, but some nights (when I have had too much salt) I put my chillow in a separate pillowcase protected by plastic by itself in the frig for about 30 minutes then just lay that on top of my regular pillow if I'm too tired to mess with inserting it. I also use it to chill my sciatic for 20 minutes and it's wonderful. My sister is finally getting restful sleep, staying cooler, staying in bed and not sleep walking so far ( which is DEFINITELY a good thing). She would comment but she doesn't go on computer. Both of us are very happy, thankful, and won't go without it anywhere. In fact, I am going camping with my sisters in a few days. I couIdn't before very easy. The ChillowPlus works decently, but not so well that I am going to buy it as a present for everyone I know. Setup was straightforward (you add water, wait for it to absorb, and roll out the air). Stuck it in a pillow case and on top of my pillow. For the first 4 hours or so, it provided the perceived effect of being cool to the touch, and stayed that way for a while. It works, but don't expect it to be nearly as cold as pulling a Blue Ice out of the freezer! Instead, think of how cool a stone tile or metal pan in your house feels at room temperature. That's what I perceive the "chill" factor to be. Only have had this Chillow for a week, so for now I would say the smell is strong. I thought it had the new car plastic smell, while others say it smells like a giant Band-Aid. This smell may go away over time or maybe it is permanent (anti-bacterial treated plastics seemed to smell more in my experience). If you don't mind the smell, the Smellow-Chillow can cool off your head a little for a spell. The product is made in the USA. I almost gave this product an additional star based on the excellence of its product name. And yes, if you have pets, I could see how the Chillow would decimated quickly by anything with sharp claws--not the Chillow's fault.

This product really works. Was amazed how well it actually cooled your head. Great for hot flashes and night sweats.

It's so nice to have on a hot night. I don't use it as a pillow -- I drape it right across my chest or around my ribs under my arm. It's like a cooling little security blanket!
