Nice hold and lightweight. Doesn't flake. May leave a little white residue if you use too much. An excellent value for the price.

I've tried many gels in all price ranges and still haven't been able to find a gel that works quite as amazingly as this one for defining curls. I flip my head over, rake the gel into soaking wet hair over a leave in conditioner, gently scrunch upward to get the curl pattern going, then air dry or diffuse. After it dries (or while drying if I'm impatient), I flip my head over and scrunch out the hard cast... and I'm left with shiny, healthy looking, bouncy, soft curls that stand up to every type of weather (in fact wind makes them look even more amazing!). The only drawback is that daily use of this gel for weeks on end does tend to dry out my hair, so I have to rotate it with other gels. If that weren't the case I would use this gel every single friggin day and never try any other gels again! I think for the price, this gel still deserves 5 stars.

I've been using LA Looks for many years and stock up on it when it's on sale. I've tried others but find that the performance/price ratio for LA Looks blows the others out of the water. It's value is superb --- there's no comparison.

This gel gives a strong hold to my super-thick, wavy hair without getting too gunked-up. I've searched long and hard for a product that balances hold with natural appearance. After years of looking, L.A. Looks strikes the best balance I've found. I use it on dampened hair, after either a shampoo or daubing water on dry hair. It works well in both situations. It does make hair a little stiff, but that's the price that must be paid for a strong hold.

My hair is thin, wavy, and frizzy and it's hard to get it to hold a style for any length of time. I use this to scrunch my hair when I'm going to be moving a lot and sweating (like at concerts, the beach, or when it's just really hot outside) or when I know it might rain while I'm away (like when I go to NYC) and it lasts through everything.

By the way... if you go to buy it in the store it's more of a darker blue... I was thrown off by how light it looks in the picture.
