I read the mixed reviews of this color, and I really wasn't sure what to expect from it. When I first put it on, it seemed like a strange color, a bit like lilac cement or something. As the week wore on, it truly became one of my new favorites. It's not really grey, like some have described it. I can see how it might seem grey, and even I likened it to cement, but that's sort of misleading. It's more of a lavender beige color and I think it would be flattering for all skin tones. It's a more interesting neutral and I think it works best on short, clean nails rather than long.

I thought this product was more than I would usually spend on a nail polish, but I was taken in by the design, origin, and shade. I am very pleased with the application and wear of this polish over the last week. And the shade is something I wouldn't ordinarily try, but I liked the idea of a gray tone over a pale pink as a color to transition into fall. I'll keep coming back to this polish.

OK, this is MY experience with Butter LONDON 3 Free in Yummy Mummy. First off, the color...is quite unique to say the least. It really changes with lighting, time of day and length of wear. The best way I can think to describe it is as a grey/taupe/mauve/lilac combo, (but not always at the same time). Basically it's a chameleon, which I--as someone who tires of the same-old-thing easily--think is pretty rad. I have very pale, cool toned skin, and I think the color looks good at all times. My fiance loves it as well (and he is much less trendy and more discerning than myself). The nail polish formula itself is fantastic!! It certainly feels free of chemicals, and used along with my trusty, Sticky base coat, it has stayed put for weeks at a time (much longer lasting than OPI or Essie). Lastly, I read a few other reviewers found the square top uncomfortable and difficult to use. But when I received my bottle, I noticed the instructions tell you to lift the square top off, and sure enough, underneath it is a more traditional round top. So I had no problems with the application what-so-ever.

I do NOT have fabulous fingernails, and ANY nail polish/lacquer will chip on my nails in a day or two. Butter London, however, stayed on my nails for 3 days before chipping -- a record for me. I took two long hot showers during that time as well. I purchased the colors Macbeth, Aston, and Yummy Mummy. I've tried Aston and Yummy Mummy so far, but not the Macbeth yet. The Yummy Mummy is my favorite -- it's not quite gray and not quite brown; very chic. The Aston has lovely metallic flecks in it, but I prefer the satin appearance of Yummy Mummy. FYI I did the whole Butter London routine on my nails -- cuticle oil, nail fertilizer, base foundation, one coat of lacquer, and the top coat. My nails never looked so good. When I finally had my first chip and had to remove my work, though, it took a bit of effort to get all those layers off...

I thought this would be a great everyday color and it definitely is not a great color for pale skin tones.... maybe if you have darker or olive skin tones? I am glad I tried it because I would be willing to try other colors in this brand it was easy to use and stays on (so far), but not really happy with the color. It looks a lot more pink in the picture than it is - it is really brown/grey.

I am not sure what the lady below me is talking about. She must have a drab color of skin color because I am olive and darker complected and I get compliments all the time with this color. Very pretty almost putty color of a shade with a slight purple twang to it.

Such a hype, other come without those chemicals also. Smell not as bad as most polishes. goes on nicely but you can not rely on the bottle image as it is very much slimmer than shown and it is a little bit hard to use the square shape. Great color selection though but the descriptions for being great on all is totally off.

This polish was a GREAT purchase. Goes on smoothly, doesn't smell too bad, but most importantly the color is gorgeous! It's a very tasteful neutral color that will match anything and anyone's skin tone, but at the same time undeniably chic! Love it!

I thought the color was very blah, not as pigmented as you'd like. And it chipped after 1 day. I like my polish to last a week, this did not measure up. And the price??? Ridiculous.

Just like the blurb for this color states, I can imagine that this shade looks good on everyone -- I wasn't particularly attracted to it at first, but then I tried Yummy Mummy and it looks fabulous on (I have medium olive skin). It's very easy to apply given its slight sheen, and dries quickly. I think that I just may have found my new favorite everyday polish...and the fact that it doesn't have an harmful chemicals in it (something I try to avoid given my severe allergies and my efforts to be more green in my personal choices) is a DEFINITE plus.
