For Cholesterol Lowering and Heart Health
Uses: Diets low in saturated fat and cholesterol that include 7 grams of soluble fiber per day from psullium husk, as in Metamucil, may reduce the risk of heart disease by lowering cholesterol. A bit sweet, but a great prodcut

Here's the thing. I eat a healthy diet with plenty of fiber, and for years I've supplemented with a daily dose of plain old psyllium husk powder from local health-food stores. I tried getting a roommate with constipation issues to try the psyllium husk powder, but he couldn't handle the texture or flavor. So, reluctantly, I suggested he try Metamucil. Well, now I'm a convert too. Metamucil tastes so much better, and is so much easier to mix into water and drink. I feel a little uncomfortable having a daily dose of aspartame and artificial color along with the fiber supplement, but I don't worry about it too much. I prefer the standard orange flavor, because it's not as sweet or as strongly flavored as this product. This does taste like pink lemonade, but WOW, it's very, very sweet. I should note, however, that I take more than the recommended teaspoon dose -- I prefer to take a tablespoon. If you have problems drinking fiber supplements, you might enjoy this one. Well, "enjoy" might be a bit strong, but you shouldn't have any trouble drinking it. My roommate quickly became a regular user of this product; and while I wish he would've increased his fruit and vegetable intake along with his Metamucil intake, at least this solved his constipation problems.

My doctor recommended this product to me as a way to regulate my digestive problems. I have irritable bowel syndrome, along with some issues of unexpected leakage. I take a prescription medication for this, but it wasn't working 100% of the time and I had a few unpleasant "surprises". My doctor said "just try it, it's worked for a LOT of people, you may be surprised" so I thought "why not?" And wow, within a few days after using this product, I was not having the bowel leakage problems anymore! I had tried fiber products in the past, but didn't like the bad taste or gritty texture. This product tastes good and does NOT have a gritty feeling when you mix it as directed. I will keep using this product daily and recommend it to friends and family. And I'm going to be thanking my doctor for "pressuring me" into trying it out!

I use this product on a daily basis to supplement my other fiber intake. I was hesitant to try this at first because I have used the original flavor Metamucil in the past and found it almost unbearable to swallow (poor taste; very gritty). I decided to try a small container of this pink lemonade flavor and was very pleasantly surprised. Not only does it have a good taste (yes, it really tastes like pink lemonade!), but the gritty taste that I remember is only slight. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a daily supplement or for regularity. It has worked well in both of those areas for me.

Put one dose into an empty glass. Mix this product (child or adult dose) with at least 8 oz ( a full glass) of water or other fluid. Taking this product without enough liquid may cause choking. See choking warning. Stir briskly and drink properly. If mixture thickens, add more liquid and stir.

Adults 12 years and older: 1 rounded TEASPOON in 8 oz of liquid at the first sign or irregularity. Can be taken 3 times a day. Generally produces effect in 12-72 hours

6-11 years: 1/2 adult dose in 8 oz of liquid, up to 3 times daily

Laxatives, including bulk fibers, may affect how well other medicines work. If you are taking a prescription medicine by mouth, take this product at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after the prescribed medicine.
