It's near impossible to find either "delicate" or "extra soft" toothbrushes on the market, so I was thrilled to find this here at DrugStore.com.
It's important to point out, this is no ordinary tooth brush. It is designed *specifically* for folks with periodontal concerns, gum challenges, recession of gums, and especially for those whom brush too hard and get "gum abrasion." In other words, you've brushed so robustly that the gum is abraded and receding from areas around the tooth.
Consequently, because the brush bristles are so gentle, this brush isn't going to last as long as other, more conventional tooth brushes. But we are, after all, supposed to replace tooth brushes every 2-3 months anyways. But once you work with such a gentle brush and see the results in your gum probing numbers, you'll be glad you switched to this kind of brush. Combined with proper flossing, you can make a huge difference.
My dentist turned me onto these kinds of brushes - she only gives out the "delicate" bristle brushes to all of her patients now. But for me, trying to find replacement brushes in between cleaning visits was near impossible until I found them here at Drugstore.com.
I've inherited pretty poor teeth from my parents, but fortunately with better dental health options and home care choices, I've managed to turn things around. So if your dentist recommends this sort of brush, now you know where to get it. Good luck!

Too Big for my tastes
I prefer smaller more streamlined toothbrush heads. It also seems like the Bristles are not as densily packed as they should be, but I am not sure about that.

Having very sensitive gums these toothbrushes have been great. They're slightly more stiff than I like - but it is very difficult to find extra soft and have them actually *be* that soft. Head of brush is full size - so getting the back teeth is a bit tougher...would not be great for people who want a smaller more manageable brush.

This toothbrush is so easy on the gums and cleans well too. My dentist gives me Oral B soft, but it is not as soft as Dr. Collins Perio--- prefer this one. I highly recommend Dr. Collins Perio toothbrush! Hope Drugstore.com always carries this toothbrush.

I love these brushes when they're new. Unfortunately, they wear out pretty quickly and they're pricey. Not a great combination and the ony reason I don't give them five stars. They are nice and gentle on the gums and feel great to brush with.

Super soft and outstanding at cleaning my teeth! I find that I don't have to be a flossing fanatic (I still floss, but if I miss a day I dont feel like all of my teeth are going to fall out) as this toothbrush seems to be better able to clean between my teeth and get the area under my gums without damaging them. I won't ever buy any other toothbrush again. Well worth the money spent!

Dr. Collins Perio is great for a sensitive mouth. I use it every day. It cleans my teeth and stimulates my gums without causing soreness. Not so effective for the tongue; I use a tongue cleaner.
