I have used the Maybelline eyelash curler for 50 years and could always count on the white cushion/curler combination to curl my lashes. Because I could not locate the old style refill, I purchased this one and wish I had spent my money trying other brands of curlers. These do not work and I can't imagine what Maybelline was thinking when they made the change from a tried and true product to this one.

I cannot understand the negative reviews. These actually work better than the old white ones. I have a very old Maybelline curler. Proper installation of the refill means FLAT side (with two little notches) goes down. The round side is what curls your lashes. Because these are silicone, they release better than the old ones, which would eventually split and tear lashes. And the old ones sometimes stuck to lashes because of mascara. These black refills fit the old curler perfectly and I find them very satisfactory. I was very much in need of replacements and too lazy to go to a chain store. Thanks to Drugstore for having these!

I have the "old fashioned" all-metal Maybelline eyelash curler. These refill pads fit it perfectly!! They even have notches in the bottom to fit over the tiny screws in the curler base. They work so much better than the previous white refills I had. Just be sure to press them fully into the base. They work exactly as they should and, as you can tell, I'm very pleased!

After reading reviews on this website and others, I was afraid to buy this product. But I could no longer find the old white eyelash curler replacement pads so I decided to try. I'm glad I did. They work better than the old kind, and they stay in my eyelash curler (the white ones always fell out in my makeup bag). They work well, seem gentle on my eyelashes, very inexpensive. So I say go for it!.

I have been using my Maybelline eyelash curler for over 20 years. The white rubber refills worked great and I had them for years at a time before they needed to be replaced. When my last refill finally needed to go, I went to buy refills and couldn't find them anywhere. When I finally found some, they were this new black silicone refill. Desperate, I bought them and gave them a chance. The eyelash curler slips over the top of them without even making contact, making them completely useless. Not only that, but I noticed after a couple of uses that it was cutting the tips of my eyelashes off. I now have several places with shorter, stubbier eyelashes--about half the length they normally are. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Do not buy!

These newer refills work just fine for me. I've owned my Maybelline Eyelash Curler since I was a freshman in high school, which translates to 36 years... I think these work just as well as the spongier white ones. I think they'll probably last a bit longer as well, since they're made from a tougher material..
