I use the fabric softener sheets in my dryer, but I'll also use them to freshen up linens on my bed. The softening effect in the dryer is OK, but the smell is constantly overpowering. I much prefer the standard Bounce sheets to the Febreze ones.

This is the only brand and scent that I buy. I have always loved bounce, and I especially love this scent. Even the stinky loads come out smelling better because of these. I also use the liquid Tide with Febreze, so that is part of it, but these Bounce sheets really keep the clothes, and especially towels soft.

This fabric softener sheet works adequately, but does not deliver superior softening. You are paying for a brand name and some special smell. You get superior softening with some less expensive brands and if you want smell... try a spray.
Add a new sheet on top of clothes at start of drying. Discard after each dryer cycle. For best results: For large loads, use an extra sheet. Use low heat setting for synthetics. If spotting occurs at high heat setting, rub spot with a bar soap and rewash.
