Normally, I hate using pencil eyeliner; I find them impossible to apply. I generally use gel eyeliner in a pot with a separate brush. However, this one changed my mind. It is a very smooth application, with relatively little pulling of the eyelid required. Once on, it stays put, but easily washes off (with Neutrogena foaming cleanser). A separate makeup remover is not required. The pewter is a medium matte grey, perfect for combining with blue/grey eyeshadows or when wearing cool colors. The espresso (medium brown) is also nice. Best of all, this is a gentle product: it received a very good safety rating (low hazard) in the environmental working group's cosmetic safety database. Overall, a great buy!
