Best filter for Kenmore

We bought a K3nmore fridge about 6 months ago and were told by a [@] rep that we could get replacement filters for it through their stores and/or website. I read the reviews on the K3nmore branded Pur filter and saw that several people were complaining about nasty tasting and smelling water. I also thought their prices were a little too high. In just a couple of very basic web searches, I was able to find the original Pur filter used on this same model when it is sold under its original name, Whirlp00l. Once I found out the correct model number of the actual filter, I did another search and found that Drugstore.com had the best available price on it with shipping. In the end, I got an OEM filter, great tasting water and saved over $10 beyond the "special" brand made (allegedly) by the same folks for my fridge. It is working perfectly and was a snap to install. I'll be back for more filters here...

Its a great filter and water is very tasty i do recomend this filter. As far as life its way too short on filter use for the money, if it lasted longer than it does i see [$] is fair but for how long it last i would say maybe 12.99 or 14.99 is a fair price. I will be back

Push button to release filter and pull old filter straight out.
Remove Grille Cap from old filter by twisting counterclockwise.
Twist Grille Cap on new filter.
Remove and dispose of red protective covers on the end of the filter.
Insert new filter in refrigerator and push until it clicks into place.
Flush air from filter by pressing and releasing the water dispenser lever (5 sec. on / 5 sec. off) for two minutes.
