I have fine hair, but even so, these are even worse than the average clip. What a waste of money. They won't even stay in my hair for a couple minutes. Fall right out.

Since SCUNCI pretty much stopped making closed-end barrettes for women (not kids), I've been using their clips. It's great that they slide right in & hold smaller sections pretty well, but unless you have thick, curly hair, they WILL slip out sooner than you might like.
These clips REALLY should be offered in more colors or styles than currently offered... Sometimes the tortoise shell color consists of a glued-on plastic "tortoise" form that looks very good - something an adult could easily wear to work & look nice! Sometimes, though, it's just color applied to the clip, and that wears off in patches. Not great. They do offer colors for redheads, blondes, etc. - those are nice; but they mainly have these, plus hair clips colored colored & shaped for little kids.
All in all - good for casual wear and holding parts of hair in place for 2 - 8 hours (depends on your level of activity - NOT for playing tennis, etc., but fine for work and less active fun.

I tried these hairclips to hold back my very fine thick shoulder-length hair, styled in a blunt-cut bob (no bangs). The design of these clips is so terrible I don't understand how Scunci can get a patent.

It's impossible to slide any hair into the clip because the 3 stiff teeth nust be held up at the same time. At first, I thought I was trying to stuff too much hair into the clip, but it couldn't hold a few strands either.

Don't waste your money.

These clips will not stay in hair no matter how much or how little you clip. The metallic ones lose their color in less than a month- probably because I have to keep snapping them back in. I like the comb back and click-snap closure. The comb-like back made me think they'd stay in place, but I bought this style clip by another brand... SAME problems, sliding and color chipping. If they put a small piece of rubber or felt on the inside they might stay in place. I'd do it myself but at this point the color has chipped off all the clips so I use them only to keep my hair out of my face to do something that takes only minutes, like washing my face. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THESE (no matter WHO makes them) as you can use bobby pins, headbands, etc. to hold hair back for a few minutes.

I use these daily, there are always one in my pocket and an extra 2-3 in my purse. I use them to clip my my bangs back whenever I tie my hair into a pony tail, and to secure headbands/scarves to my head. I've used them for years, and these ones now come with a thin rubber sleeve on the inner part, to reduce slippage. Honestly I don't know if it works any better than without it, but it doesn't work any worse!

I have thin straight hair. These hold well. They do what they are supposed to do. My only gripe is that the decorative top slides off when wet. I used them to swim and they didn't like the water. Other than that I would recommend these.

I like these to hold my bangs but I wish that they had them in blonde colors. I can't wear these with my military uniform because they don't match my hair color.

These are very good hair clips. My hair doesn't get stuck in them or ripped by them. They stay in place fairly well, as long as you place them properly.

They are better suited for normal or thin hair, but really they can be used on any type of hair, as long as you don't expect to get a lot of hair into one clip. I just use them to pull some of my front hair back, and it works very well.
