I was so excited for the week the PetSafe Simply Clean Litter Box actually worked. Both of my cats willingly used it, though it was low and they dug TONS of litter over the sides, at least I was able to conveniently throw away their waste (seemed to break of feces to the point that it sneaked through the filter). Then it stopped running. I took the whole thing apart, cleaned it, jiggled both motors, and it worked. For three or four weeks I played this game. I have NEVER cleaned up more litter mess.
So I called to get a replacement. I was told a) complaints were rare b) the company has changed it's name? c)the device would be EXACTLY the same. It was not. The difference was fairly subtle, but I thought it was actually a detriment: MORE MOVING PARTS. This time it quit two-three times in the firsts week. Then it ran for - oh - maybe a month? Then it was the biggest litter mess EVER and trying to figure out which one of the motors was failing and loving the idea that the teeth on the bowl and the base that act like a gear to turn it are flimsy plastic...
Both of them ended up in the trash. They actually wanted me to put the first one in the box (covered in urine and feces?) and send it back so "they could figure what was wrong." When I got the second one and it wasn't the same anyway I did not bother mailing a very large fecal/urine-scented package. I should have insisted on my money back, but I just couldn't bear to even think about it before.

the motor does wear out and you will end up replacing them. but they work great with the proper ventaltion and cleaning. i have three of them and they all work great, and they have a great website for assistance too.

Just doesn't quite make it. Everything piles up at the bottom of the conveyor. It just doesn't quite pick it up and it winds up rolling around and breaking up into smaller pieces that eventually don't get picked up at all. Conveyor needs work...
