This product does what it says! I have a home with three bathrooms. Previous to trying this product, I used products containing chlorine because they were the most efficient. However, they are also very caustic to the insides of the tank.
The TV commercials claim this product doesn't use any type of chlorine, but you definitely get a whiff of something that smells just like it when you open the box.
Nevertheless, I now have the "stay clean" power of a product using chlorine that doesn't eat up all of the plumbing guts inside the toilet's tank.
The most frustrating problem was that the dispenser would only fit properly in one of my three toilets. That's a real bummer. Now I have one nearly maintenance free toilet and two that make me grumble because I can't get this product to work in them.

I loved the original product and had two of them for both toilets. They lasted about 5 months, and the chlorine smell was comforting, meaning the toilets were clean. There was NEVER a spot in either of them.
However, I had to clean a black ring out of one toilet, and the bleach scent is much less obvious in these refills.
The frequencey with which the toilet needs to be scrubbed has dropped by a factor of 5 to 10. Still, over time, grime does slowly build up above the water line.

I've it several years. It lasts a long time. If I need to brush the toilet at all, I know it has run out. I can't get it locally, so I order several at a time for my 3 toilets.
