This 16 gallon Recycle Touchless Trashcan NX model has two 8 gallon separated compartments.  One compartment for trash & one for recycle, or one for paper & one for bottles/cans.  It uses the latest sensor technology.  Simply place your hand or debris about 6 inches away from the infrared sensor on top of the trash can & the lid will open automatically.  The lid will remain open if debris or your hand is within the 6 inch range of the infrared sensor.  It will close automatically 3 seconds after debris has been released & your hand moves away.  There are two buttons to open & close the lid manually, & an on/off switch on the back of the trash can.

Powered by 4 D size batteries or optional AC adaptor (both not included).

Make sure to turn off the power switch at the back of the Lid Unit before opening the Lid Unit to access the inner buckets or change the batteries.  If the wheels are installed, the Recycle Center may loose balance when the Lid Unit is opened.  Please hold the Recycle Center when opening the Lid Unit or place the Recycle Center against a wall when opening the Lid Unit.

Since this product opens automatically, it may not be suitable for small children or pets.

Press the push button located in front & lift the Lid Unit up.  The battery compartment is underneath the Lid Unit at the lower right corner.  Insert four D size battery according to the mark of "positive and negative pole".  Insert garbage bags if needed, the two separated buckets fit 8 to 13 gallon bags.  Buckets can be removed from the bin for easy cleaning.  Then, close the Lid Unit securely.  Turn on the power switch at the back of the Lid Unit.  A red light indicator will turn on for 3 seconds.  Then it flashes once every three seconds, which show s that the system is on & ready.  To open the lid automatically, place your hand or any object about 6 inches above the Infrared Sensor in front of the Lid.  The lid will remain open if it detects objects within the Sensor Zone.  It will close automatically 4 seconds after your hand or object moves away.  If you press the open button next to the LED light indicator (button right for manual operation), the lid will open & remain open until you press the close button (on the left).  This manual function allows flexible choice.  If you want to close the lid, press the close button (on the left).  After 2 seconds, the trash can returns to the automatic standby mode.  Operation Indicator:  The indicator light in the normal standby mode flashes red once every 3 seconds.  When the lid automatically opens, the indicator light shows green.  When the lid automatically closes, the indicator light shows red.  When the lid is opened by the manual button, it flashes green once every three seconds.  When the batteries are nearly used up, the indicator light flashes amber once every 6 seconds.
