Excellent for urine control but my cats will not poop in the gravel and go find another traditional kitty litter box.

I love this litter system. The pads hold a lot of urine and there really is no odor or it is very minimal and you can always put some type of deodorizer on the pads like essential oils or sometimes I use the scented laundry crystals. You will always want to put some protective pad underneath and around it as some cats will might overshoot the lower entrance to it. It is NOT for cats with loose stool. You will need clumping litter for that. It can also be difficult for larger cats to maneuver in it due to the three high sides. If that is the case then remove the barrier so the cat can maneuver in it. Just be mindful there is a greater chance of the cat overshooting the side so it is important with any litter box to have protection under and around the box. Pellets will also be more likely to be kicked outside but they are easy to sweep up and return to the box. No litter box is perfect. I am presently using this with a cat with neurological problems and it is perfect for a pet in a confined area. I removed the high sides to make it easier for her to access.

I've had cats for over 25 years. Have done the old fashioned clumping litter and even the swanky automatic system, where the machine "cleans itself." That amounted to clumped, smelly litter on the floor more than in the container. This Tidy Cat system is not only easy, but it all but eliminates the smell of litter.

Each cat is different, so you may not have the same experience as me. My cat poops on one side and pees on the other. So the pad tends to get saturated on one side. Sometimes if she doesn't bury the poop enough I can smell it but just briefly. But, i still only have to change the pad once a week. The only con, if there is one, is that I forget to clean it because I can't smell it! The pad is SUPER easy to change, takes about ten seconds. I can't recommend this enough!

It smelled so bad the very first day my cat used it...Urine smell was worse then with clay litter...she was afraid of the loud noise the pellets make when you clean the box with scoop. Had to change the pad after two days because of the smell. Also, the pellets hold the odor till they dry out. She couldn't cover "poop" because the pellets are very hard.
Threw this in the garbage because it would have cost a lot to ship back...
Went back to my original Fresh Step litter and all is well...I will put up with the dust and tracking of litter.

I can't think of a simpler, cleaner, and cheaper way to manage cat waste.

Have a fairly large (17 pounder) cat and after a couple of weeks of transitioning, now he is a pro using the system.

I tried the transitioning method suggested by the manuf. and didn't work. Instead, I mixed some of the regular litter sand with the pellets. It was a mess for a while. Next week I cleaned up everything and no more sand. Sure enough, cat was convinced the new system is better.

Smell is almost non-existent. The diapers work if you change them once a week although you need to take the whole drawer out and dump the soggy thing in the garbage. That thing comes out nasty.

Only complain is the diaper drawer may get stuck forcing you to tilt the box to wrangle it open.

Another thing to consider is that if you are in a small apartment, cat taking a dump at 2 in the morning may get very noisy, especially if you have a vigorous digger like mine.

Can't really add anything more to what others have said, but the system really is superior to "regular" litter boxes, mostly because of the ease of clean-up and elimination of tracking. I remove poop as soon as I see it, and love that the super-absorbant pee pads are changed on a weekly basis.

It may take a couple of trials for all cats to adopt/transition to the new system, but when they eventually do, it makes things so much easier =^.^=

Ideally this box is for urine and a regular litter box for the poo. I don't like the odor with the poo and when they cover it, so many pellets get dirty that a lot have to be thrown out. Loose stool is a small disaster. So, I keep this one upstairs in my bathroom and have a regular box downstairs. They mostly use the litter box but when they are upstairs they will urinate in this box and I'm always so grateful. It's one less mess in the litter box.

Be sure your cat will adjust to the large pellets, mine won't use it, therfore I wasted $$ on it.

None of my 4 cats will use these and I bought 4. I did what the directions said, and rather than use the new clean boxes(sitting next to the old uncleaned boxes), they used the old boxes until there was absolutely no room left, then they used the floor. NOT GOOD! They must really hate these boxes!!!!
