Good investment by Jen T in Austin, TX on 10/21/09Describe Yourself: Beauty Conscious Best Uses: Daily Use, Enlarged Pores Age: 35-44 Skin Type: Combination Bottom Line: recommended I'm using this at my dermatologist's recommendation b/c I'm also doing retin-A. The product definitely leaves my skin smoother and cleaner.
I would just let you know that it's not as rough on your skin as you would think. The brush head is soft not as tough as some of those over the counter products. Prior to this, I had bought a Neutrogena brush - and it's definitely course and left me sometimes red. On top of that, I'm not sure it removed all the dirt or make up like this one does.
Timer is a mere 1 minute - so it's definitely a convenient tool esp in the shower.
The only reason I didn't give it a 5-star is b/c of the price. But check it out at some department stores to give it a feel.
Good product but.... by Scorpion in South Jersey on 9/13/09Pros: Softens Skin, Soothes Skin Cons: Price Describe Yourself: Beauty Conscious Best Uses: Daily Use, Fine Lines/Wrinkles Age: 35-44 Skin Type: Combination Bottom Line: not recommended This product works well. I've noticed that I break out less often and it exfoliates well. My issue is that I really can't say that paying [$] for this is worth it. The refill brushes are $25 and it's recommended to replace it every 3 months. You're spending $100 just on brushes on top of the astronomical amount you're paying for the device. It's a good product but charging that much is absolutely ridiculous.
A definite guide to clarskin by GlowPeach in Chicago, IL on 9/13/09Pros: Nonabrasive Cons: Expensive Describe Yourself: Beauty Expert Best Uses: Daily Use, Enlarged Pores, Fine Lines/Wrinkles Age: 35-44 Skin Type: Combination Bottom Line: recommended I must start out by saying that I already have an amazing skin care regimen. I get peels every other month (not strong ones just ones that keep my skin exfoliated and clear) and I have my own cleaning routine and products that I particularly like to use on a regular basis. I already get consistent compliments on the glow that my skin has. So why get this little nifty gadget you ask?? Well, the main reason was that the woman who does my peels started using this on my face as soon as it came out and she said that it makes products that you use more effective and allows them to penetrate more deeply into the skin. I've been using this for almost a month with amazing results. The great thing is that this enhances the products in my routine and allows them to perform even better than before. I really couldn't pass this up. [...]Honestly, though, I still would have paid [$] for it and I'm not relishing continuing to shell out money for those brushes every three months at [$] to [$] a pop ([$] for 1 brush and [$] for two so you get a [$] savings when you buy two together). . Now I can't live without this little thing. If you can get your hands on this, then buy it, you won't be sorry. The first few days of use, I noticed a couple of small irritation spots, sort of like what happens sometimes during a waxing session. But after a couple of days, I didn't have that problem anymore and everything was smooth sailing. However, like many others I didn't use the skin care items that came with this (I just used my own items) and received an amazing result. Honestly, I was a little leary of the cleansers that came with it after hearing some of the negative reviews about them. The Clarisonic facial brush is definitely worth every penny.
Great investment! by Agray329 in Lexington, KY on 7/14/09Pros: Softens Skin, Soothes Skin Describe Yourself: Beauty Expert Best Uses: Daily Use Age: 25-34 Skin Type: Combination Bottom Line: recommended I'm 25 and was always embarassed that I still perpetually had a huge zit or two in my T-zone area, while all my friends seemed to grow out of their skin problems.
My mother bought my this product for Christmas and I was definitely sceptical at first. Nevertheless, I've contiued to use the same murad cleanser, but with the Clarisonic brush each morning (not twice each day or I'm nervous it might eventually irritate my skin). Nothing in my cleansing routine has changed, yet I haven't had one zit this summer and my skin is luminous!!
Wonderful results...I'm thrilled to have reliably clear skin and highly recommend this product! Enjoy.
Just ok! by Expensive Lesson in CA on 7/5/09Pros: Easy to use Describe Yourself: Beauty Conscious Best Uses: Daily Use Age: 35-44 Skin Type: Combination Bottom Line: not recommended I have been using this for about a year and for the first three months it seemed to work pretty well, but looking back I think it's actually the cleansers that work well. My skin isn't any smoother and my pores aren't any smaller,as a matter of fact I have started using my old stand-by, Queen Helene facial scrubs. Now my skin is smoother my pores are smaller and I have a nice glow. It is a good product, but it only viberates, so if your facial cleanser isn't any good, its just an expensive average product.

I waited to purchase due to the price tag, but let me tell you, I would pay double for one! It is amazing how great my skin looks and feels!

Worth it. by Undine in IA on 4/16/09Describe Yourself: Beauty Expert Best Uses: Daily Use, Enlarged Pores Age: 25-34 Skin Type: Combination First, I want to clarify that this product comes with three sample cleansers instead of the single cleanser in the picture.
I will begin by saying that I have used the neutrogena wave for months prior to buying the Clarisonic. After the first use, I knew that the Clarisonic something completely new for my skin - never has my face been so soft!!! I haven't used my Neutrogena Wave since getting my Clarisonic :)
I suffer from adult acne, and I can't say that this product has gotten rid of it, but the acne does seem to be significantly reduced. What I do still get doesn't seem to become as severe before. I've had my Clarisonic for a couple weeks and I am hopeful that my complexion will continue to improve.
I do believe that this product keeps my pores cleaner than manual exfoliation and cleansing. When used properly, the brush is very gentle. The sensitive brush is great for the face, but I may consider the normal brush for use on the body in the future.
I know that it is an expensive "gadget", but I am very pleased with the product - I wish I had not waited so long to buy it! For me, considering the improvements I have seen in my skin, this is well worth the money. In fact, I have enjoyed it so much, I also ordered a Sonicare toothbrush from drugstore.com!
Great Skin Care tool!! by EMarie in Huntington beach, CA on 3/28/09Pros: Clears Pores, Exfoliates, Facial Massage, Lightweight, Softens Skin, Soothes Skin Cons: Brush heads get dirty, Sometimes irritates skin Describe Yourself: Beauty Conscious Best Uses: Daily Use, Exfolitation, Fine Lines/Wrinkles, Uneven Skin Tone Age: 45-54 Skin Type: Combination Bottom Line: recommended I use to have very oily skin with lots of breakouts but now that I am in my forties, I have combo skin with periodic hornmonal breakouts. What a pain to have both dry aging skin and breakouts! I started getting facials frequently which has kept my skin in good shape but it was getting expensive at $80-$100 a pop. So I got this skin care brush and I have been using this skin brush for two months and it has changed my facial routine for the better! As I mentioned, I use to get professional facials 2x month as my skin doesn't exfoliate well now that I am in my forties. I now only go once every 6 months for a facial and only to get a few blackheads taken out. My esthetician tells me my skin is in great shape (even though she misses my regular visits). I had bought this tool to try to save some $$ (as one of my down sizing efforts because of the economy) and it has met that goal. The head brushes can be rough on your skin if you press to hard so my suggestion for first timers is to take it easy initially to see how it works for you. You need to get your skin use to it. I also find that I have to moisturize alot more which is interesting. it may be that my skin layers are peeling off sooner so they need more care. You might also find that it makes you breakout alot at first but I think that depends on how clean your skin is in the first place. If you keep a regular routine, eventually you only get periodic breakouts and only small ones. It doesn't seem to fade my brownspots alot but I use a separate product for that purpose. Overall, I find it to be a great exfoliator which is what I wanted. Lastly, I always spray an anti-bacterial product on the brush after use and clean it before I use it each time to keep the bacteria down. That is probably the only thing to be careful about is to ensure your brush is always cleaned with an anticseptic before use and to change them out regularly. Also, don't forget to wear your sunscreen!
