I bought this as a gift for my father for him to use while watching TV at night. We quickly found that the "shoulder" area does not actually reach his shoulders just as the "lower back" doesn't either. However, with a few pillows and manual adjusting, my father was able to feel comfortable. My sister even figured to lie the contraption down and use it by lying flat down on it.

Overall a Great Deal! Wish it had more control over type of vibrations and heat somewhere other than lower back. For the Money it's a hard thing to say anything bad about. I liked it so much I ordered one for my Mom :-).
