I had no pain as my tooth was root canaled but the dentist could not see me for a week to glue it back on and I was advised to go the store and look for a temp glue. My crown fell off cleanly with no breaks and not too much old cement inside it so it was a pretty easy case. I followed the directions by cleaning both tooth and crown, and practicing placement before cementing. I was very suprised as just how strongly this temp cement was able to set. Within minutes my crown felt like it was back to normal, and the bond felt strong like super glue. The hold lasted exactly one week. On the morning before my dentist visit I gently nudged the crown loose and took it in for permenant recementing. Hopefully it will stay stuck for several more years but if I ever need another temporary fix this is the product I'll use! Couldn't get back to the dentist for several weeks. Tried Recapit--followed the directions to the letter--the tooth stayed on for 4 hours! As soon as I ate even the softest food, it totally came off. I noticed the consistency of the adhesive was very thick when I spread it--very hard to spread. Maybe the package was on the shelf too long. Maybe it was my particular crown, but would not recommend, if you have another choice. Cons Best Uses Comments about Recapit Temporary Cement Repairs Loose Crowns, .4 oz: I previously reviewed this product after I first tried it. The first time I applied it, I apparently didn't use enough of it and I didn't have it on a great enough surface area of my crown. Once I applied most of the tube onto the crown, it has held better than any of its competitors. It went from being my least favorite to my favorite. You just have to use a lot of it. Best Uses Comments about Recapit Temporary Cement Repairs Loose Crowns, .4 oz: I followed the directions exactly, and honestly, this product did not work at all. My crown fell off of my tooth just as easily as it did with no adhesive. Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend (0 of 1 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Best Uses Comments about Recapit Temporary Cement Repairs Loose Crowns, .4 oz: FRONT CROWN CAME OUT DURING A TRIP. I HAD PLANNED FOR THIS EMERGENCY BY BRINGING MY RECAPIT PRODUCT. OPENED UP THE CAPSULE AND FOUND A COMPLETELY DRIED UP PRODUCT (ALREADY HARDENED AND SET. I WAS REALLY COUNTING ON A PRODUCT THAT I HAD USED BEFORE WITH GREAT SUCCESS. VERY DISAPPOINTED! I CALLED AROUND TO DRUG STORES TO FIND PRODUCT BUT WAS NOT SUCCESSFUL. COULD NOT FLY BACK HOME TO MY DENTIST, SO I FOUND ONE LOCALLY WHO COULD FIX IT FOR [$] WHAT A RIP OFF THAT WAS, BUT WHEN YOU'RE IN NEED, DENTISTS CAN JUSTIFY INFLATING PRICES. DRUGSTORE.COM NEEDS TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE MANUFACTURER TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM BEFORE CUSTOMERS LIKE ME LOSE CONFIDENCE AND TAKE OUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. Comments about Recapit Temporary Cement Repairs Loose Crowns, .4 oz: My dentist, Dr. Incompetent, said the $1,000 crown would last a life time. It fell out. My tooth had cracked which is why I needed a crown. The product has helped so much to keep air away from it and protect it from a cavity. Floss, brush, dry the tooth and apply as instructed; it's really easy to use.[...] The product has been invaluable to me until I can find a competent dentist and save a million bucks to have it recrowned.
