the signal is not high def, the controls do not work at any distance. Returned. Will buy a different brand/model.

Did a lot of research before purchasing this one. I like the fact that it is digital and does not interfere with my wireless network. The signal is very good and should be more secure than analog monitors. The image is not "HD" but it's good enough for monitoring purposes. Audio is clear and free of static. The video camera can be powered by battery. That allows me to move it to different places without moving the power plug. Replacing the battery requires removing a small screw first. It does not come with any batteries for the video camera (only 3 AAA rechargeable batteries for the monitor). The monitor unit is small and portable (about the size of a cell phone). The monitor's small screen has digital zoom and pan functions (the video camera itself does not tilt or pan). I find the zoom useful at 2X. Any closer the image pixelates too much. You can set it to night mode manually or it can change to night mode automatically. The night images are good. The video camera sends out IR beams to illuminate the area. When monitoring, you can set a timer for the video to turn off or set it to be on all the time. You can also adjust the audio sensitivity (always on, soft, loud, cry). The monitor can supports up to 4 video cams. I do wish that the video come on automatically when audio comes on. I also wish the video camera uses rechargeable batteries. The price is a bit high compare to analog units.
