In fact, I felt it was damaging my hair when I used it -- it was the kind with little balls on the ends, and I kept feeling as though my hair was catching on them, no matter how carefully I combed. Plus, the handle on the old one wasn't appropriate for use in a shower -- there was nothing to keep the handle from slipping out of a wet hand, and that happened a lot. This one works much better in general. In addition, I appreciated the detailed product description for this one -- made my purchse more confident. The price was only a little more than my old shower comb, and this one seems to be much gentler and more effective. And I don't have to constantly pick this one off the shower floor either. ;) VS Most Liked Negative Review Works for a While Worked fine for a while until all the tines of the comb snapped off at once with no pressure. The problem is that the part holding the prongs is very small and each comb I have purchased has broken. Luckily, it's an inexpensive comb which is why I keep buying over and over. 1 for home, 1 for gym bag etc

It's durable, the teeth are wide enough to be gentle on my hair, but close enough together to detangle my hair and distribute my conditioner. The comb may last 2-3 months before all the teeth of the comb fall out. So I usually purchase 2 or more at a time until I can find a replacement. Comments about Goody Shower Comb, 1 ea: I an my 2 girls all have long hair that tangles easily. We keep this in shower and use it to comb out our hair while we have conditioner in. It is much easier to take out snarls that way and makes the comb out after the shower effortless. I would like the hook on the handle to be a little more curved since sometimes it gets bumped off. The drugstores near my home no longer carry this and it was my mission to find it. I LOVE THIS COMB! It is very gentle on my scalp and never snags when I am detangling my wet hair. Best Uses Comments about Goody Shower Comb, 1 ea: I'm surprised by the good reviews. I have long, wavy/curly and very thick hair and I had a hard time getting this through my hair without breaking the plastic teeth right off it. I don't consider my hair to be generally *that* difficult to get a wide tooth comb through. I feel like it achieved "ouchless-ness" by having the teeth commit suicide if they encountered resistance, rather than pulling your hair. Maybe ok for a difficult child, but I'll take a wee bit of pain rather than replace a comb every month.
