We've had this scale for 8 months and it's performed like a champ. The reviews here weren't glowing - but we've had success with an Escali food scale so I thought I'd take my chances. The numbers are very easy to read and the scale seems to be consistant with numbers from the scale at the Dr. office. In addition to providing sufficient info for a basic household weight scale, it's reasonably attractive.

After going thru a couple scales that we simply couldn't read - or would provide weights that were 2-3 lbs different within a 1 minute period, we wanted a simple, ACCURATE scale. This scale does the job. The body fat/body water feature was a bonus. While it's probably not 100% medically accurate, it's enough to track progress.

When it first arrived we set it up and it was easy enough but I couldn't get it to register a 0 so that I could step on and weigh myself. Mostly it would go through the numbers for different family members and then once you got the one you wanted, couldn't get it to either stop or get to 0. After waiting a few days and trying again I finally got some consistant results for a day or two. I left for the weekend and now it won't work at all. I wonder if the batteries are dead but won't spend for them for a brand new scale that's only been used effectively twice. It sure is attractive but form without function is just plain lousy design. If it was a wonderful product there wouldn't be so many reviews where people obviously had defective units. Apparently, when they work, they work well but a good percentage don't work well most of the time. Back it goes.

The scale only lasted 10 days. Seemed to work fine for a few days, then after a week started having trouble turning unit on. Then after 10 days it quit working, even after changing the batteries.[...]

I like the look and feel of the scale. This is my first glass scale and I prefer it to the metal type scales I have owned in the past. The plus is the large capacity, the main reason most people have purchased this scale is due to the high capacity I am sure, so that is a very good advantage. The accuracy seems to be on point for me. I have not had any misreadings or major fluctuations while weighing myself. I read some online reviews where people mentioned that it does not keep a record of your previous weight, so that you can compare and monitor gain or loss, that would be nice to have, but I don't have a problem writing my weight down in my journal and keeping track of it myself. I am more concerned with getting an accurate reading of my weight. With scales I had in the past, you had to step on, be very still, make sure it was even, and then get a readout. With this one, I step on, wait a few seconds, step off, and read my weight. Simple and easy. I like that.

So far I haven't had any tip overs like some online reviewers mentioned. There are 4 suction type cups on the bottom and they hold it in place for me. When I pick it up to place it back under my bed, I have to give a little pull to get it off the floor so I am not concerned with it flipping or tipping over. It's secure.
Make sure to weigh yourself on a hard flat surface and not on carpet.

The scale also has a nice stylish look to it, that is a plus.

Overall, it is a great scale with high capacity that gives you an accurate reading of your weight.
