Perhaps a bit too gentle for me...This cleanser is close to the texture of cheap-end body lotion. It just didn't soap up the way I wanted it to in the shower. My face did not feel particularly moisturized afterwards either, but perhaps with repeated use it would live up to this claim. It's probably perfect for someone with super sensitive skin, but it just didn't seem to cleanse mine well enough.

I have been using this cleanser for SEVERAL YEARS!! If you have sensitive dry skin, this is the cleanser to try. It is indeed very gentle to your skin, and it cleans very well.

This cleanser is so moisturizing, I barely even use a moisturizer during spring and summer. I have extremely sensitive, normal-dry skin, and this makes my face feel wonderful. Don't use if your skin is oily already, because it may feel a tiny bit greasy and filmy. I especially adore this product in the harsh winter, though.

I bought this product after reading many reviews and after using soap on my face for years. I was looking for something that didn't leave my face so dry and also something that wasn't too strong, so I could use it more than once a day if I wanted to with out adding a serious moisturizer to attract more dirt to my face. I don't wear make-up, so I didn't need a deep down cleanser. It's light on the skin and seems to condition it the more you use it (plus I like to spend a little extra time scrubing my face with just my fingers and the cleanser for a good facial massage). I'm always getting told how smooth and refresshed my face looks now. The main reason I used it was to keep my face clean to avoid razor bumps and this does that too. Not only has my skin texture improved since I've started using it, if i forget to put on the ultra sheer moisturizer that I bought to go with it, I don't feel bad at all. It's like, the more I use it, the more my face moisturizes itself. And my girlfriend loves it too.

I wanted to like this cleanser; I really did. I love Neutrogena products, but this cleanser felt like I was smearing lotion on my skin that wouldn't come off. In addition, it made my sensitive, dry skin break out. I have even tried using it less frequently, but it still makes me break out. I'm in my early 30's, and I don't break out that much--never have.

This is an extremely mild cleanser. I went with the ultra gentle cleanser as an experiment. Previously I was using St. Ives Gentle and Ultra Gentle peach scrub. I felt my face was very dull and ashy looking, so I thought I needed a change. This product is like rubbing watered down lotion on your face. I don't feel like it really cleaned "deep down" but maybe I'll resort to my old peach scrub once a week for that. I rarely need another moisturizer on after I wash with this product. My face doesn't seem dull and ashy anymore. I don't know yet if I'm going to buy it again; I'm still looking for the "right product" for me. I do recommend it for extra sensitive skin.

This cleanser is not very effective for my skin. I tried it instad of Purpose and am switching back. I prefer a cleanser that is not all liquid, which to me this one is. It's not very effective and doesn't foam. My dermatologist has recommended Purpose Gentle Cleansing Bar for years and it feels more effective and clean.

I have very sensitive skin (Rosecia), and have always pretty much stuck with Cetaphil products. I decided to try this and my face felt much cleaner (not a real thick-like lotion product) then when I use Cetaphil. This product does what it say's it going to do. I will buy it again.

Finally there is a facial cleanser that wouldn't cause me to breakout. Well well, I have tried many facial cleanser throughout the drugstore, from the most expensive yet claimed to be the most gentle one to the cheapest hypo-allergenic beauty bar, I still have breakout due to harsh products. However, my skin is happy now because of Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser. It is a rich and creamy liquid, that is extremely gentle for delicate skin. I used this cleanser conjuction with St Ives Sensitive skin scrub to get rid of excess build up on my skin. I'm using St Ives Oil-free moisturizer as my daytime moisturizer while Nivea Creme as my night moisturizer. I really like this cleanser very much. Thank you Neutrogena~
