I tried the Natrol 5-HTP TR daily during the hectic Christmas season (for appetite suppression) and found that I was NOT provoked into arguments or disagreements by other family members as was normal each year. I seemed to have a cheerier attitude and be more relaxed. When the bottle ran out, the store was out of the TR so I tried the regular 5-HTP, but it didn't seem as effective for me. I didn't notice any lessening of appetite (hey, doesn't everyone try not to gain weight during Christmas?), but, on the other hand, I didn't gain any weight either, so perhaps it was effective there as well.
