Decided to make the switch to organic tampons to avoid chemicals in my menstrual personal care products. The cardboard applicator is slightly more difficult to use, so just make sure hands & applicator are dry before insertion. Noticed a decrease in sensitivity/irritation after using these compared to conventional brands. Will definitely buy these again.

I read the issue with the applicator from another reviewer; it's really true. These things are hard to hold and, because the applicator is cardboard, they collapse if you try to get a better grip. I liked the NatureCare tampons instead.

These tampons are good in certain ways--non irritating, non toxic. They don't absorb well. I used one today and about 1/4 of the tampon was wet with blood and the rest went right down to the string staining my clothes. I would expect this is the tampon was soaked, but it was not even half full--still much white cotton showing which by the way did NOT EXPAND MUCH AT ALL. It remained almost as slim as when it went in. I will try another couple of organic brands and see what happen.

No chorine used, not tested on animals, and made with organic cotton? I don't understand how anyone could use any other brand!

Design not easy to use. Some needed to be thrown away because the applicator wouldn't seperate. Not a total bust but they could certainly use a design upgrade to increase ease of use.
Still a great alternative to not-as-body-friendly products.

I am in my late twenties and I had been using the same brand of mainstream tampons since I was 15. Suddenly one day recently I noticed I was irritated for a week after my period ended. It started happening each period afterwards. I put two and two together and figured I was starting to develop an allergy to the mainstream tampons. Sure enough I ordered this brand of natural tampons and overnight pads and the problem went away! I am so very happy I found this product!!! My only gripes are is I wish these tampons were easier to grip when inserting they can be a little tricky. Also I was used to plastic applicators before so getting used to a cardboard applicator was also tricky at first. I found out that I had to use a next size up from what I am normally used to....I used the super tampons for most of my period and the regular on my lightest days...these tampons are smaller in my opinion than the mainstream brands. There was 1 or 2 times I didn't get a good enough grip on the applicator and the tampon went in incorrectly and uncomfortably so I had to start over with a new one but this wonderful product far outweighs any small gripes I have. I will be making a monthly purchase from this website from now on!

This is a great product ! For once, a tampon that respect the women's body, natural, just doing the job. Could be more compact, difficult to hide in your hand when needed but not really a big deal. Would recommend this to all my friends and more !

I find it kind of funny to be reviewing a tampon, of all things, but ok. To put it simply, I like this product. It catches and holds what it is supposed to with no leakage. The cardboard is sturdy and the cotton organic. My only complaints are the string is too short and unravels easily and the indented grips on the cardboard are useless. Before use, I push the cotton through the tip of the cardboard a little to make it easier to push it all the way through when it's being used. Seventh Generation makes good products and I recommend this product and this brand.

I switched from the brand I had used for years (Kotex) after putting 2 & 2 together and realizing they were the cause of my feminine itching. After doing some reading I found most of these products are made with harsh chemicals that can cause a reaction. I decided to purchase an organic tampon to see if that took care of the problem. Sure enough it did. The only down side is the fact they are smaller than other tampons (ie the super would be the equivilent of a regular in the other brands). Other than that they're a god send.
