1. Twist pen to release color, then dab the tip with a tissue to remove excess.  Upon first use, you will need to twist the pen several times to dispense color.
2. Lift hair in 1/4-inch sections away from the scalp, making sure to pull hair taut.
3. Starting at the root, paint color onto the hair in smooth, sweeping strokes.
