I read an article about the benefits of taking probiotics to help the immune system cope with allergies. Specifically, the probiotic in Culturelle has been linked with stronger tolerance to allergens. I have allergies to dust, dairy, dander and have eczema. What a difference! After taking Culturelle for a month, I've had fewer allergic reactions and a higher tolerance to allergins. Wondering if anyone else has taken Culturelle for this effect?

I have battled Pseudo Membranous Colitis for many years. It has been a chronic problem for me and it can be deadly. Triggered by both major abdominal surgery and the ensuing antibiotic/hormone treatments I received. Until I found Culturelle I battled all manor of severe intestinal problems. Although I continue to have major problems, Culturelle has literally been a life saver. I take it daily but increase the dose whenever I must be on antibiotics (although I do try to avoid antibiotics at all cost!) Recently I had more intestinal surgery and found that I could not tolerate anything afterward. Even my Culturelle was no longer tolerated because of the dairy - but then I learned that the Culturelle (with inulin) product had revised it's formula to assist those who could not tolerate dairy or gluten. The fact is Culturelle is the ONLY probiotic that I have ever been able to tolerate and was extremely concerned to find that I was unable to tolerate even this probiotic after my last operation. Unfortunately, a side effect of this last surgery left me with an intolerance to dairy and gluten. But now that the dairy/gluten has been removed I am able to resume my love affair with this product and I thank the Culturelle people for making this very important change. I wonder if they would consider doing the same with their Lactobacillus GG (No inulin) product which still includes traces of Whey and Caesin.

Help for "sensitive" stomachs.

I have always suffered from a very sensitive and difficult stomach. I am also extremely lactose intolerant. Last year, I suffered from a horrible stomach virus or something, and ever since that time, the troubles with my stomach have really increased. About once a month, I would wake up in the middle of the night sick. And, whenever I would travel, even to visit my parents for the weekend, I would have an "episode." Many times I would feel nauseous at some point during the day or would need to run to the restroom. I heard about this product and decided it couldn't hurt to give it a try. The results were not immediate, but over time, I feel that this product has really helped me. I have been taking it for about 3 months now and I feel better and stronger in general. Also, I just came back from a business trip out of the country during which I didn't even experience a single twinge from my stomach! Also, I have traveled to 3 different continents in the past three months for my job and I haven't caught so much as a sniffle - and everywhere I go, it seems that people are sick. So, for my money, Culturelle is an excellent investment.

i'm a breastfeeding mom and we've had recurrences of thrush since my daughter was 3 months old. we've tried everything and the only thing that has worked to keep it away is Culturelle. I take it and she takes half a capsule each day. I open the capsule and put it directly in her mouth with my finger. We stopped taking it for a couple of days and the thrush came back. So we're back on it again. It's expensive but I'm willing to pay the price to get rid of the thrush.

I take this once a day with or shortly after food. I am not lactose intolerant, but find that it helps my digestive system produce (sorry, don't mean to gross anybody out) good and regular bowel movements.

Culturelle was initially recommended to me by my Gastroenterologist, and it has been a wonder for me. It took very little time for my finicky digestive system to react, and there were no side affects (which I have had with other products). I have been taking it for 2 years now and I immediately notice when I am lax about getting a renewal pack. It really does keep my system well and healthy.
