I have a very heavy beard that gets tougher and more "wiry" as I age and get grayer. This Panasonic shaver in wet mode gives me the best shave from an electric shaver -- and I have tried many. I keep two of these shavers at a time, one at home and one in my always ready travel kit. The shavers are good for about three years before the battery starts to wear out. I have to replace the foil and blades on each shaver after about eight months --- that is the real expense over time. The new foil and blades make the shaver almost like new.
It is recommended that you replace the outer foil at least every year and the inner blade(s) at least every two years to maintain your shaver's cutting performance. To Replace the Outer Foil: Press the buttons and lift upwards as illustrated on the packaging. Insert the system outer foil by pushing it downwards until it clicks. Inner Blades: Remove the inner blades one at a time as illustrated on the packaging. Do not touch the edges (metal parts) of the inner blades to prevent injury to your hand. To insert the inner blades, one at a time until they click as illustrated on the packaging.
