I'm almost 28 and I had had enough of the "just ok in the morning, orange-y by 3pm, oily yet flaky afternoon melt down, collect in your laugh lines," drugstore makeup. I was constantly aware of it and down right embarrassed so much so that I would wear my glasses just to draw attention away from my makeup and hide the way it caked under my eyes during the day. I wanted a makeup that would make me feel gorgeous and radiant the moment I put it on, and Bare Minerals does just that. I was so skeptical at first and sure it wouldn't work for me. I've only been using it a week and I can already see and feel a difference in the texture and overall condition of my skin. My breakouts have lessened and the usual redness on my chin and around my nose is fading. I'm kicking myself for not trying this sooner. My only gripe is that I have oily skin and that seems to affect the lasting power of the makeup but I'm sure a good skin primer would alleviate that problem.

Okay, so I knew from the other reviews that there were some problems with this product. Not everyone loved it, but I thought I would give it a shot anyway because I might've ended up loving it. But... No, I'm very dissatisfied: This is supposed to cover acne, pores, undereye circles, etc, but I find it does a terrible job of it. Yes, it does cover acne sort of OK, but I still found I had to put A LOT on to reach any sort of coverage. Undereye circles are the same as acne, a lot had to be applied and even then it didn't do so well. My biggest complaint is with the pores on my nose, which are a little noticeable without makeup. For, say, the first two hours after applying my nose would be fine; but, after a relatively short amount of time, the makeup would SINK into my pores so my nose looked like a golf ball. Also, my nose seemed to be a lighter shade than the rest of my face, though I did everything exactly the same. I have school, so I cannot constantly be applying makeup to myself; I believed that BareMinerals was going to solve that because, as it said, it stays on ALL DAY, which is A LIE. And the much raved about Mineral Veil? I find that it gives me an oily look, not a glowing matte/dewy look. The best thing about all my wasted money is the concealer brush, which is rather amazing. Also, I must admit, it doesn't feel like you are wearing makeup, so if you have overall nice skin that just needs a little something, this is probably for you. I know this is a long rant, but I wanted to give anyone else that was like me a chance to see the other side of this product. My overall review: Don't waste your money on this product yet if you are trying to find a mineral makeup: try SheerCover first, because it at least has a money-back guarantee. I have yet to try it, but I'm finding it has gotten better reviews than BareMinerals. Good Luck!!
