What's the hype about?

I went to Sephora's counter to have it applied as I waited for my shipment to arrive from this site. I wanted to know how to apply it once I got the "try me" kit. Even though the powder looked several shades lighter than my skin tone from the "light" kit, the color looked gorgeous on me. It gave me a very healthy glow (but definitely a "made up" look) from a foot away. But up close, it made all sorts of lines show up on my face and on close inspection made my skin look uneven (not smooth) in it's texture. This is when the make up artist applied a pretty heavy/thick moisturizer and a primer. I have really smooth young-looking skin (I'm 33 and often get mistaken for being in undergrad) yet it REALLY aged me. Will be returning the "try me" kit once it arrives.

Great starters kit for those who are new to BAre Minerals. I now use Bare Minerals for all my makeup from concealer to foundation and blush. It is so lightweight and goes on great to cover my uneven tones and blemishes. Cons: It can be a bit messy and it does take time to get use to.

This make-up gives the best coverage I have ever had and it looks natural. I love it. I have been avoiding this make-up for years because I did not think it would be as good as it claims. I have tried cheaper versions and none compare. I am 64 years old and have tried everything but this is by far the best make-up I have ever used.

I definitely HATE feeling make-up on my face. I am very very natural body care (I don't even like putting moisturizer or lotion on lol). But I've been looking for a lightweight make up that will help me in looking more "finished". This has been the answer. I am comfortable wearing the makeup and don't feel as though I have a heavy face. My boyfriend was quite pleased with how natural I still looked. I don't get all the hype; friends and family have recommended bareminerals to me for the last year, so i decided to try it. It does what its supposed to do; not any better than any other professional make-up product i have used in the past. i do like that its very light weight, and that you get 2 foundations so you can blend the color. that is very useful especially going into summer. I would recommend it to a friend, if they did not like wearing makeup, or know how to put on foundation...

Difficult to tell if the color is the best match to my skin and doesn't really cover up my rosacea totally but it is very light on my sensitive skin and does not cause breakouts. Loose powder does take some getting used to.

This is such a great mineral makeup. It's so light and easy to use...it gave me a really nice glow and evens out my complexion. I get lots of compliments on how great my skin looks when I wear it and I love that really don't need to wear anything else...use the kit, slap on some mascara and gloss and go! It's fool proof AND you can sleep in it after a long day and not worry about breakouts/irritation. I've read reviews about other people trying this, loving it and then switching to another brand to save a few bucks...don't do it. Stick to what you know and love. The downside, as with any loose powder is the mess you'll leave in your sink every morning.
