When my elderly dog was sick, I put a little of this on my finger and she licked it off. It helped her to get well. I also purchased some Natural Balance dog food rolls to disguise her pills in, and between those and this supplement, she recovered very quickly. Sometimes it was very hard to get her to eat, but she would lick this and eat the dog food rolls.

Purchased this item for my 14 year old dog with infection, decreased appetite. Not only good as nutritional suppplement that she eagerly licks off the spoon, I am able to use the gel to disguise / administer her medication. Only drawback is tube in which it is sold, like toothpaste tube, seems to last about a week (for a 15 pound dog!), no refrigeration required, but larger container / tub would be preferred

My cat is very ill and is down to 6 pounds. Luckily for me, he really likes Nutrical. I just push it up from the tube and let him lick off the button from the tube. The other FIVE cats in our family don't like it. I would say it is worth a try. [...] For me it is enough the Nutrical is likely keeping my cat alive!

i bought for a friends dog who i care for occasionally. they werent sure what and how to feed so he was very thin. i made some healthy suggestions and added this and now he is making progress. they're happy too!

The vet recommended this stuff for my under-nourished shelter cat when I first brought him home, and it did a great job of filling in the nutritional gaps and getting him up to a healthy weight. Now that he's strong and healthy, I use it as a special treat since he absolutely adores it -- goes into little ecstacies when he sees me take the tube out of the cupboard, in fact.

I use Nutircal when my dog is not eating...she loves the taste. I know she is consuming calories. Easily transportable.
