I had an old one of these and it worked much better than this new one. These are a little noisy but really the trim is not as good and the holder it sits in is difficult to organize all the implements they have with this trimmer.

It works fine, but to change the battery, you need to have a TINY screwdriver and you need to take out FIVE screws and take the shave apart into FIVE pieces, which you then need to reassemble. Oh, and it also take a special battery, which you'll need to buy and you'll also need to recycle it in a designated hazardous waste recycling center. Easy peasy, right? I couldn't even get the battery out. It turned on by itself while dissassembled and I had to cut the wire to get it to stop.

Obviously, this was planned obsolescence, since most people will get frustrated and throw it out. Will NEVER buy another Conair groomer. I am posting this review on sites so people won't be as frustrated as I was and the landfills won't fill up with junk.

This is my first trimmer. As yet, haven't used the product because I'm unable to understand the instructions.
The stand is really very basic and looks cheaply made.

I got this to trim leg, chest and face hair. The adjustable guard it comes with works great. It has yet to pinch my skin or pull hair instead of cutting. It has been great cutting hair in one swoop.
The biggest downside to this product is the stand that comes with it to hold everything. It holds the trimmer and a few "extras" well, but either I can't figure out how to put them in, or it wasn't designed to hold 3 or 4 of the attachments that always fall out.
I'm only looking for the product to work, so I can live without the stand. But...wow does this stand suck.
