I use these clips mostly to keep my long, medium thickness hair pinned back off my face, over my ears. I clip all the way down to the scalp, and the clips do not move all day. I cannot pull my hair back with one clip, even though they adjust to different thicknesses.
The first package can with a black and a tortoise colored clip. I ordered a second package, so I could wear matching clips. Unfortunately, the second package came with a black and a cheap looking, see through green clip. Don't know if I will rish ordering a third.
They would be rated 4 stars if the colors matched.

Even though these clips are meant to holding your hair in place, I use mine as a seatbelt adjuster. I am 5ft.1". My seatbelt was always digging into my neck. This was very uncomfortable and unsafe. I clip the barrette onto the seatbelt, moving it down toward the seatbelt clasp. I no longer have to pull the belt away from my neck. Now my seatbelt fits like everybody else's. Oh, and they are great for not slipping in fine, straight hair.

I was skeptical that a hair clip would hold back my massive amount of hair (thick, wavy/curly, and almost down to my hips). I was pleasantly surprised. The three different thickness settings are very easy to use and kept my hair in place all day. I love this for when I want my hair off my face but I don't want to resort to a boring ponytail.

I need hair doodles to contain my long thick curly hair. These barrettes are perfect size. Like all barrettes, though, they sometimes fight back when I try to open them to remove from my hair. I don't think the perfect barrette has been invented yet. I'm happy with these. You get one black and one brown. They are three inches long and a half an inch wide.

I bought these barrettes for everyday wear but ended up using them a lot to hold all my hair back while dancing. They're singlehandedly the BEST clips I've ever owned! They hold all my thick hair and, contrary to what another reviewer said, I find they work just as well on half my hair. They don't slip or pop open, which most other clips do. One broke after about 3 months of use (and I was devastated) but I attribute that to lots of use and not poor construction. *Highly recommend!*

These are good clips, but I thought they would be smaller. I thought they would be the kinds of clips you wear if you want to wear your hair half up and back, but they are big and more like if you want to wear all your hair up. Good clips, but I was hoping for the smaller ones. Just FYI
